Hidden gem, great food, great food, great community!
Was at the Memorial Mall and wanted to try something local and found this nice little place 6 minutes away, and so glad that we did. The plaza is a little rundown, so you know this is my kind of hole in the wall. The customer service is great, very helpful and accommodating. Got the chicken tteokbokki which is tteokbokki with fried chicken thrown on top, good but not great. I think i would have preferred mine to have more sauce in the pot. Got the original wings, just plain nothing on them but very crispy. Got the garlic wings, the sauce is very thick and sweet, not really for me. Got the traditional sweet and spicy wings, those were great. My fav item was the wings with Spicy Soy, I can eat a gazillion or just drink the sauce, sooo good. Would definitely come back for just for those wings!!!
The best fried chicken in the world. Not to mention the crispy rice cakes, and Fried wontons. Can’t wait to go back again this place is going to be my addiction
KRISP is a fantastic korean fried chicken joint with a simple menu and variety of delicious flavors to choose from.Amhience and service: We came in on Wednesday around noon and there was not too many people. The interior is simple and very clean, there's a good amount of seating, and there's a fitting vibe of pumping Kpop tunes on the speakers along with kdramas running on the TV in the corner. The tables have a unique call button to alert your server of anything you may need, which is helpful. The waiter was nice and explained the flavors well. The menu is written above the bar and also available as a QR scan at each table.Food: They offer lunch specials on weekdays so we went for the chicken sandwhich with sweet/spicy sauce and wings combo (6 wings) with honey butter sauce. Each combo comes with a small side of fries and cole slaw. Both meals came out in about 15-20 minutes and they were piping hot. The chicken in both dishes was perfectly cooked - a crunchy crispy exterior with incredibly juicy meat inside. The wings were so hot i burned myself taking a bite because i was too impatient lol. The honey butter sauce was an amazing mix of savory with just a mild sweetness and a lot of umami depth that was addicting. The sweet/spicy sauce was quite sweet and not really spicy at all - we were not a big fan. The cole slaw was a great complement to the fried chicken which served as an effective palate cleanser while also just being delicious in its own right. The fries were very crispy on the outside with a fluffy inside. Our only complaint is that we wish they had some sort of seasoning or unique dipping sauce like spicy mayo - they only provide ketchup. Another great addition was the crispy rice cakes with the chicken wings - they were tossed in the honey butter sauce and absorbed the sauce perfectly without losing their crunchy exterior and soft squishy interior.Overall, the food was fantastic and the lunch specials are a particularly good deal for korean fried chicken. We can't wait to come back and try the other sauces they have, and maybe also try one of their specialties on the menu! If you love fried chicken cooked right, give this place a try!
Delicious fried chicken! We ordered the original and the garlic flavored ones. The original one is minimally seasoned but very CRUNCY and flaky -yummy! The garlic one is rich in flavor with sticky finger-sucking sauce. It is less crunchy, but if you have leftovers >>> PRO TIP: It reheats like magic in the air fryer!!! Sauce turns into a little more like a garlic dry rub and SO CRUNCHY!It comes with fried little chunks of rice cake in it that has a texture similar to a mozzarella stick! I loved it, like, obsessed ? I could eat just a side of these. They also give you a free side of pickled radish that helps clear your palate by cutting into the grease.Oh dumplings and sweet potatoes fries were a solid WIN.
Pros: It was savory without being overly sweet which was pleasant. Sweet potato fries were delicious.Cons: Pickled radishes that accompanied the chicken were way too tart. Chicken lacked spice for “hot and spicy” Korean fried chicken, and it was wayyyy too garlicky. I wasn’t expecting mouth-burning spice, but I definitively had higher hopes for an authentic Korean restaurant. Chicken was not crunchy at all which was a bummer considering it was just tossed when I arrived, and Korean fried chicken is known to hold its crunch fairly well. Not to mention my drive back home was less than 5 minutes.Overall, 5/10. It wasn’t anything special compared to other places I’ve had. I would not return or recommend to someone who’s looking to try Korean fried chicken for the first time.
I tried this place yesterday and I absolutely loved it! The fried chicken wings reign supreme! They are super crispy and perfectly coated with the sauce of your choice. Out of the two that we tried the sweet and spicy one was our favorite, it's deliciously balanced. Oh and the bits of rice cake added to the basket of wings are so good. In my opinion they should add them to the menu. The fried dumplings were amazing, some of the best that I've had. The Tteobokki had good flavor and were perfectly cooked and the kimchi was also good. None the less the staff was also nice and friendly.Ps it was so good that as we were there finishing up our meal we were planning what we would order the next time we are there and my brother woke up today thinking about the chicken. ❤️?
Good Korean fried chicken. Great spice levels. Attentive and friendly staff.
Great experience all around. The staff was friendly, food was great, and not a terrible price for the quality. The kimchi was superb.
Delicious food, fantastic service! 10/10 would go back
