Slightly different owing to the custom blend of provincial spices that require some familiarity of the cuisine or be open to experiencing a differentiating cuisine. For example, the Charsi Karahi (more specifically Boneless Chicken) didn't unnecessarily impart a "bhuna" flavor that is common and staple elsewhere. As a result, the spices (and the aroma) were rendered just right for the artful Garlic Naan. The Banjara Kabab had a glow and the bites into the succulent pieces were superior. The Sweet Lasso earned only a passing grade because the blending tasted overly thick (i.e. rushed?) yet had the right amount of sweetness for my taste buds. The restaurant is not pretentious. It has limited seating capacity. But the warmth of the proprietor is truly infectious to enjoy your meal.
Great place to come taste Afghan food! Came here with a friend who’s from Afghanistan. Everyone is so attentive and nice. Go and pay them a visit! I recommend!
There food is really good, prices are reasonable. The best customer service. The place is very clean and the owners are good people. I have seen them well behaved with their staff. Highly recommend this place.
Been coming here for the last 2 years. Owner is super friendly. The food is great! I always order the goat CHARSI Karhai dish. They are good local family owned place. Worth to give it a try !
We ordered chicken chunks and fillet mignon. They were juicy, tender and full of flavor. Definitely stop by if you're in the area.
We dined here for lunch. We found the rice to be more like a yellow Spanish rice. It's not a Palau rice and so found this disappointing. The lamb shank was better than most though a little gamey in terms of flavor. The Naan bread was amazing. Incredibly fresh and delicious. We preferred this eatery much more than Darband next door. Though still think that Kabul on the corner of this center has the best Afghan food in terms of flavor and authenticity.
The best Afghan restaurant! The food is really good and the staff are so nice and friendly. The prices are very reasonable. I always go there whenever I'm in the area. Their chai is also good!
Went for the first time, tried the chapli kabab on naan and the nihari. Everything was amazing! The naan was huge, soft and absorbed the flavor from the chapli on top. The meat was very savory and seasoned perfectly. And finally the nihari, naan was dipped in it and it was perfection with the meat melting in the bowl
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Houston for any type of food, and especially Afghan food! The chapli kabob is delicious. The staff is gracious, friendly, and responsive. I've never waited long to receive my food. The restaurant is small and cozy with complimentary hot tea. It's also open until midnight which is unusual in Houston. Their menu has pictures to help you decide what to order. I highly recommend this restaurant!
The BEST Afgani food in all of Houston!!! I’m completely blown away by how amazing the food tastes, the portions are MASSIVE and the price is just right!!! The complementary tea is also really amazing. I’ve been here multiple times already and plan on being a repeat customer for the foreseeable future. You can tell that the quality of their ingredients is really high because you can eat a lot and not feel bloated after. This is my number one dine in restaurant in all of Houston.
