Our son is becoming interested in non-American cuisines and wanted to try Afghan food. Very glad we found this place. The owner was extremely friendly and accommodating. He suggested a dish for our son and let us know if he didn’t like it he’d fix him something else. All of our dishes were very flavorful. We really enjoyed the visit and will be back to try other dishes.

Wow! We were very impressed. So let me start by saying we stopped by here a month a go. It didn't look inviting. So we walked over and had a disappointing meal at Darband. Today we tried this restaurant. The restaurant was very quiet. Is that a good sign? Not always. The restaurant is rather plain visually though very clean. Our waiter, a native Afghan, was extremely friendly and provided us with great service even when the restaurant became busy. The menu is simple, offering traditional Afghan dishes. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are very generous. Now let's get to the real test... the food. Exceptional!! Well plated, presented, hot and fresh. Delicious flavors that are authentic Afghan dishes. I dined with an Afghan today, who also has high standards when it comes to food. He was extremely happy with all of our dishes and complimented the authentic flavors. I am a lover of lamb, being a true Australian. My friend not so much as the flavor is generally too strong/gamey. We both agree this is without doubt the best lamb shank we've both eaten in Houston. It melts off the bone. Is juicy and tender. The flavor is perfect, not too strong at all. We can't wait to visit again to explore more of the menu items. I encourage everyone to try this restaurant. Let's support small businesses that bring delicious cultural flavors to Houston.

Excellent food! And what makes your experience even better is just how kind the owner/staff is. I'd definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

Food was delicious!! Amazing flavors, wonderfully cooked chicken, amazing dessert. One of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a long time!

I am one of his best costumer. I give him 2 star. When he see my review he knows why I give him 2 star. Make sure when you pay bills check it before you pay to avoid extra charges .

When we entered the restaurant it was very empty and we felt that the food may not be good, however it turned out to be an excellent experience. We really enjoyed the Chapli Kabab and Pulav. The owner is so humble and always had a smile on his face. As a community let’s visit this place and keep them in business so we can have more choices in Houston. I hope you all will like Afghani food at this place . Also try Kofta and Chopan Kabab.

I came explicitly for the mantu since I heard good things about it. I am mantu lover and of course the country I come from serves mantu in different versions and shapes. (Turkey). I must admit the flavor the garlic yogurt the red sauce is similar to the Turkish version. I ate mantu at afghan village too but this one is 10 times better than afghan village. Five star plus one additional for reminding me of turkish manti. 6 star for this mantu
