My family and I stopped here because we heard this place was good. Whom ever said that lied service was horrible food was even worse. The pork chop was dry the ox tails were okay the side were horrible Mac and cheese was nasty and running the yams were nasty and the chicken was dry. This place really needs to think more on how they cook and the service they give this was not a good Experience at all! We had to leave and go to another place to get good food. You need new employees and a new cook Then re open.

Spent 40 bucks on oxtail they were tough as hell. The rice is a crime. Full of water.Peach cobbler horrible.Lady taking orders loud and rude.Suddenly after spending 40 bucks at this trash the same lady screams like she out of mind, WE CLOSE IN 10 MINUTES!This place is ran like a prison camp. This place need to truly consider closing. It's best days are gone.Sell it make it a funeral home or something.

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!!! It's just time for this restaurant to close and re-vamp or close for good. From the improperly trained service staff, to the SEVERAL ServSafe violations, to the ever-increasing HOLE in the parking lot to the food that is heavily over-priced and refurbished (violating time & temp food service regulations) Just Oxtails needs help. Once a staple in the community for being a thriving black owned business, it's so many issues and I think they're just working to keep the business afloat.

Terrible customer service as soon as I walked in the door! They were going to be closed in 45 minutes. Lady says "we closing and you cant eat in here" literally as I walked in. I didn't plan to stay and eat anyways so i told her that. Her next phrase is "what's your order" I asked her to give me a min bc it was my 1st time coming but I could give her the order someone sent me to get. She said "ok well we only have what u see out here" i said cool. I asked what 1 of the items were that I was pointing to and she HUFFED. Guess what...i just ordered what someone sent me to get after that. I'm good on this place. I did get to taste what picked up for the other person and that pepper steak was whack/dry/bland, potatoes bland, and macaroni was loose cheese.

Before COVID this was the restaurant to visit. Today it seems to be lacking the same quality and enthusiasm it had in the past. The food is worthwhile and you'll get enough to fill up but it just lacks that "something" that it once had. Because of this missing element I'm giving them 3-1/2 maybe 4 stars and I'm limiting my visits. I really hope they get back what seems to be lost.

The best soul food you could ever eat. Costumer service was GREAT! I will return again and again!!

The food was awful. The people were rude. The kool-aid is diabetes in a cup. They charge extra for everything. This is my third time trying them. I tried my best to find something good but I cannot. I gave them a chance. I just have to be honest. If you want good soul food,.... please go elsewhere.

Best oxtails ever.... And yams... And greens... And peach cobbler... I still can't figure out the secret recipe of the oxtails. I can never make mine as good as there's. So I always go here when the craving hits.

Whenever I'm in the area, I stop by to grab food for my grandparents. It is homemade. I like the smothered porkchops, oxtail, rice, gravy, and yams the most from here.Classic Soul Food in Sunnyside

I didn’t know what to expect but as soon as I got out of the car I could smell I was in for a treat. I splurged and got the ox tails and realized the seasonings were poured into this tasty dish. I also got the yams, rice and greens. Well worth my time and will go back again to try another dish.
