I came for the massive chicken fried steak and I can confirm it is indeed massive. We also tried their sausage, ribs, brisket, and smoked bbq chicken. I would say out of those the ribs had the best flavor. I think the most surprising thing was the price. I was expecting a much bigger bill.

We haven’t been here in years. Nothing has changed. Great food and great service. Staff is friendly and food was awesome. My wife had a baked potato with brisket and I had the “medium” size chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fried okra. We shared a side of onion rings, which were huge. Overall a great experience and reasonably priced.
I have had chicken fried steaks from many different places. None of them hold a candle to Hickory Hollow's! It's huge, full of flavor and very tender. This place is as Texan as it gets! Be ready to get full and your tastebuds jumping for joy. The best chicken fried steak on the planet!!
In my opinion the barbecue's got to be really special in Texas to get more than three stars, if it's awful you can get less than three stars. I think their barbecue is pretty on point. The barbecue sauce tasted good, and the green beans were good as well. I'll probably be back to try some more of their food.
My husband wanted a chicken fried steak so we decided to try Hickory Hollow based on previous reviews---we weren't disappointed. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. The large chicken fried steak can feed 2 people. You need to try it.
Good service and decent bbq at this old school spot, my family really likes it. A bit light on the sides though except the onion rings and they are really good. We had brisket chicken ribs and sausage, all are pretty good with some sauce on them, a bit dry for my taste without it. Green beans are a bit bland, fried okra is good. Overall not bad for the money.
Hickory Hollow was here when it was “ in the country”. It’s owned and operated by a local family ( support your neighbors). Food is Consistent. Staff is friendly. Prices very reasonable.. The menu is such that anyone can find something to eat there.
They did not disappoint food was worth the drive 2hours from the college station area. Medium Chicken fried steak was all meat, chopped bake potato, and half chicken was all good will be back soon
As a woman who loves her BBQ and this place has some amazing BBQ. I got a smoked brisket BBQ baked potato. I could only eat half it was so delicious and filling!
