The oxtail was heavenly, unctuously sticky with the melted collagen, tender, and just full of flavor. The rice was so so very good as was the curry potatoes. The salad was simple but fresh. I got the large order and ate all the oxtails, the steam veges, salad and a small bit of the rice. The order was large enough to feed two, but I couldn't stop. I would return again and again if I lived closer.
I drove all over Houston looking for some authentic Jamaican food!! Helen’s was in my backyard and I didn’t even know it!!! This definitely hit the spot, it was fresh and very tasty!!! Great portion and great prices!!

Truly a hidden Gem. Islander comfort food at its finest! I spent 5 years of my youth in the Caribbean and get a craving for Oxtails or Garlic Shrimp at least once a month. This place truly cooks authentic Jamaican, flavors on point great portions, and just amazing food. I live in Sugar Land and been here 3 times in the past two months. Trust me, it does not disappoint.

Best Jamaican food in town. I'm from Louisiana and was visiting some relatives in Houston. Ran across this hole-in-the-wall and was not disappointed. I love oxtails and the did me right!! Can't wait to go back again!!
Had the snapper with rice and peas and cabbage on yesterday. It was seasoned so well! It had to have been marinating. It was delicious. Along with the friendly service and clean establishment. Helen’s Is the go to place in Hiram Clarke.
