Elevated European cuisine in an unexpected location. Establishment is fairly small but pleasantly decorated inside. Menu has a variety of classic and unique dishes; everything we ordered tasted fresh and was well prepared. The attention to plating also made for a nice addition to the experience. Great place to explore European favorites.

I went here with some friends for the first time for a Sunday lunch. The food was absolutely phenomenal! We had first class service from the wine recommendations, appetizers, and the best dishes for all of us to share. The Octopus, perfectly cooked. The Chicken, unbelievably juicy. The fresh catch of the day had flavor running through it. I can’t recommend this place enough. You owe it to yourself to try this place.

My first time eating here and this is such a gem! The food was perfection, service wonderful and atmosphere cozy! Can’t wait to come back and try some of the other dishes on the menu!

This restaurant in Rice Village never disappoints!! Their baked feta is AMAZING!! The veggie entree paired with a meat entree is superb to share with a friend or loved one. And, the wine options are great!! The food is always fresh and hot. The restaurant is cozy with an inside and outside dining option. The staff are super friendly and personable which makes the whole experience high quality!

Lunch at Helen was wonderful! Trio of dips (my favorite was the chickpea hummus, his was the red pepper hummus with feta), grilled octopus (Ohmigoodness… YUM!!) and catch of the day (snapper with delicious roasted veggies… All items were cooked beautifully, service was prompt and friendly. We can’t wait to come back. Great little spot in Rice Village!!

This is such an inviting spot and made for a perfect date night. Every dish was delicious, and the hummus might be the best I've ever had. The lamb shank and the grilled octopus were highlights for sure. The lamb just fell off the bone it was so tender, and the octopus was cooked perfectly. Our service was tremendous throughout, and the wine suggestions were amazing. We'll be back soon and look forward to trying more of the Greek wines!

Every dish was scrumptious, wine was perfect, and so was the ambiance. We had the fish, octopus, and trio dip, all delicious. We felt really welcomed and left very happy. Highly recommend! We will definitely be back!

Cozy restaurant with authentic Greek food.If you can, ask for whole hot pita instead of precut pita. Hot pita with dip is much much better.Definitely not Texan portion but we are very happy about the food we got. We were not overfed and walked out restaurant with some space to have some dessert.

Unfortunately, this restaurant has gone downhill. The food was average. The service was decent but the staff is more what you find at a bar than fine dining. Music selection was so awful I offered the waiter money to skip one especially bad track. Some sort of alternative soundtrack that sounds like it was recorded in a metalwork shop. I suppose the music is aimed to attract Rice University students.

Excellent atmosphere. The food was good, not great for the prices. As my husband said, in Europe you can get a plate of gyros for like 10 Euro - it was $44. We know it was made as a shareable plate, but our dinner for three people with 4 drinks came to $150.Definitely order the 3 dip appetizer - amazing! The pita bread is also excellent.Service was just so-so. Waiter seemed bored out of his mind.I would return for drinks and the dip but would not go back for meals as it is just way over priced.
