This is THE BEST Soulfood in Houston, hands down!!!! I had pork bones, macaroni and cheese, and green beans -HEAVENLY!!!!!! Also had a slice of the German Butter Cake ; DO NOT SKIP THIS! the cake is ev??ery??thing!!!What was better than the food though, were the owner staff. It was like being at your favorite aunties house. We will definitely be back!!

I was told about this place by a church member. What a disappointment!! Maybe it was the time if day but I should have known when the man asked me if I wanted it hot? Got home and the worst food ever. I called and had to leave a message no one ever called. I don't have to say that this experience will be on the announcements on Sunday.

Something about that Mac and Cheese that just didn't sit right with my soul. It was watery...... However, I still gave 5 stars because the star of the meal the oxtails were BANGING and made up for what ever the Mac lacked for me. I LOVE oxtails and get this quite often but I promise this is the FIRST time I've ever ordered oxtails and got a serving this big. I had two meals out of that plate. They are generous with them tails and I love it. The yams were also very good. The tea was a bit too sweet for me but once I mixed it with some water to cut the sugar it was good! Wish I'd gotten me a slice of cake but I'll be back tomorrow lol. Guy that answers the phone was also very nice and accommodating. Definitely recommend but we gone work on that Mac though lol.
All I can say is the owner is a very sweet warm welcoming lady from the moment I walked in the door I feel at home She even said a friend for me and she didn’t even know that I was going through some personal thing I feel so much better after leaving the food was very very very good and I will be returning
KC, MO visitors here in Houston for our Anniversary. Found this local gem. The Owner was such a warm, friendly, welcoming, and spiritual soul. She provided us a taste of her gumbo which was delicious. The home made tea is phenomenal, I had two cups of it. Oxtails and pepper steak tender and flavorful. Whenever, the Good Lord blesses us we will be back! Thank Heavenly Choices.
Wow! Today was my first time ordering here, I ordered the meatloaf with yams ,greens very good food. So nice of them the owner came out to greet me even gave me a cup of that sweet tangy tea absolutely tasty. Im definitely coming back again.
The food here is so good especially when paired with the great customer service!They have some of the richest yams I've had from any soul food place and they're mac n cheese takes a top spot too. The baked chicken was good and flavored, it could've just been a lil moister, but would surely get againAll the servers are so friendly and hospitable then to top it off the owner came out the back and gave everybody hugs like she knew us for years?A great after church spot!
