I was really disappointed pulling up in the parking lot and it was closed, shut down closed.I was excited to try a Hawaiian restaurant with great reviews and somewhat close to home.
I love coming here when i need my Hawaiian food. Their mac salad is the best. I always have to order a large on the side to take home for later. The spam musubis you can't go wrong with, and the kalua pork is a juicy perfection. It pairs well with the creamy mac salad too.
I use to frequent this place often for the last two years. Recently they have hired a new Hispanic guy to work the front counter. Since he has been working there, he has told me they charge 25cent for extra sauce, told me that the store stops taking orders over the phone at 8:30pm and said they stop taking in-store orders at 8:40pm. I called today at 8:30pm to place an order for pick up at first he refused to take my order and said that the grill had already been cleaned. Then afterwards said he can only make one type of order (which I did not want).The business has a special on Thursday that I always get. I went in last week the new worker told me that the order I always get is not longer available with the Thursday special. He also told me that the special that comes with a drink is now limit to certain drinks. This place use to have my business weekly. I would like to know if what this worker is saying is policy or not? Please inform me less loss a repeat customer.
This place is amazing, the food tastes home cooked and the portions are generous. Everything is flavorful and they're quick with the orders, I have never had to wait for my food when picking up.
Best authentic Hawaiian BBQ I’ve found in Houston so far! They even have the “Hawaiian Sun and Aloha Maid” cans. 10/10 recommend!
They changed their name to Maikai'i Hawaiian BBQ. This place is delicious! My husband and I love eating food from here. We always get the chicken combo with the BBQ Chicken and Katsu Chicken. We also really enjoy their spam musubi. If you're not a fan of the cabbage that comes with the meal, you can substitute is for extra rice or macaroni salad. ???
The food was delicious and the portions were large. The waitress was super sweet and helpful. I would definitely recommend!

The food was AMAZING, the customer service on the other hand was terrible. The girl at the front was so rude, no greeting when we walked in, no goodbye as we walked out. We asked her for an extra fork and she had a look that seemed like we just asked her to retrieve the Hope Diamond. I still recommend cos the food is so good lol
