My favorite go to Dive bar spot !! Perfect for a chill night to grab food and drinks or to watch a game
Had a great time, good strong drinks, lots of friendly people, was karaoke night on fridays, good food too!!
We had the fried catfish and green beans with iced tea to drink. The catfish was fantastic...two huge filets. The green beans reminded me of my grandma's. Food was delicious. I should have know better than to get iced tea in a bar but I wasn't drinking anything stronger when I have to get back to work. The bartender/server was very friendly and efficient. It's been a long time since I was at Griff's. Hasn't changed much which is good for the service and food but bad on the steps/deck going in. It's a bit treacherous sober in the daylight so I'd hate to navigate it at night an tipsy.
Loved this place when I lived in Houston 30 years ago. Still love it when I visit. Neighborhood dive bar at it's best. Sports, great food.
This is one of the WORST bars I’ve been to. I was part of the Z bra Krewe with the Art show festival and we came here to eat afterwards. First of all, this place is run down and dirty in the inside. 2nd, a gentleman sitting at the bar yelled a vulgar remark to my friend who was simply asking the bartender to prepare our drinks and food. The bartender did not say anything to this gentleman but responded ‘Okay everyone just cool down’ when clearly he should have corrected this rude gentleman sitting at the bar. Furthermore I and my friends had to wait over 15 for someone to take our food order. Finally when the bartender began to take my order I was finishing a brief convo with a friend d when he went to take someone else’s order with an attitude. I said I have not ordered yet. And with an attitude he says ‘Well what do you want?’ I said nothing from you guys. Absolutely nothing. And no one corrected him either. This is the perfect example of unsophisticated, deplorable customer service. I will never come back there again. Horrible!
Awesome Irish pub!! Great for watching a game or just grabbing beers. Love the no-frills and comfortable feel of this bar.
Friendly people, atmosphere, good food, reasonably priced drinks, karaoke on Fridays. St. Patrick's day is overpriced, but the rest of the time it is the Houston's top spots.
Saturday the 5th at Griffs they are having a reunions this is where sports players used to go and that included Dan Pastorini and Coach Bum Phillips and it is a great place and tomorrow they'll have bagpipes it's just a lot of fun
The place was okay during St. Patricks day. The Guinness was $9 for 12 ounces and wasn't that great. The burger wasn't good either and it was $14 for a burger and fries. I didn't like that you had to use tickets to buy everything. The music was great though. I just felt everything should have been better with the $15 entry fee. I need to try the bar on another day to see if it is good on a regular day.
I came today for the cook-off I met the most amazing friendliest people. The food was amazing.
