Best Persian restaurant in Texas, no matter what anyone says. This place has maintained consistency since I was a child. It’s been around forever and I always eat here whenever I visit houston. Be sure to ask for your grill extra juicy.
The food was delicious and staff were nice. The Kabob was outstanding. The dining area is simple (you order and pickup your food yourself), so nothing fancy. Definitely going back.
Great food as always. I used to go to this restaurant when I lived in Houston back in the early to mid 90s and I still go there every time I’m in town and have consistently liked their food. I’m amazed at how affordable their pricing is in 2022. I’ve seen some reviews criticizing customer service. It is my opinion that this is a café where you order your food and then take it to your table when it’s ready. If you’re expecting a service oriented dining experience then this is not the place. I can say however that their service is always very efficient and prompt and in my experience attentive and friendly.
This place is amazing. I have been coming here since I was a child. Being half Iranian and half Hispanic, I love exploring variations of my cultures food but it’s so hard finding Iranian food here in north Houston. I recommend this place to everyone and even if you are not familiar with the cuisines here, I guarantee you will enjoy them.
Great service which made me want to leave a review. And I know the best ethnic restaurants usually have the worst service, but this place had delicious kebabs and perfect rice. The hot sauce is excellent, make sure you ask for extra. The rice could use more saffron oil and other restaurants will give some veggies or a salad side, but I'll definitely be back to try their other dishes.
Very perplexing to have read so many raving reviews about this restaurant. We just ate here and we're extremely disappointed (My friend is also Persian that ate with me). The service was rude and far from friendly. The food was inexpensive, granted. Though we would have paid much more for quality food. The beef and chicken were terribly over salted. The rice was bland and very dry. The bread... what a disappointment. We've eaten at so many delicious Persian restaurants here in Houston. This was by far the worst. We will definitely not revisit this one.
Darband never fails to provide a delicious meal. I have been eating here over twenty years. The grilled meats are juicy, healthy, and grilled to perfection. The bread is excellent with yogurt cucumber dip and hummus. Give it a try if you like Iranian/Persian food.
Very delicious food, I was so impressed with the quality of food and the great service. I would have given them 10 stars if it was available.I would definitely recommend this place for their amazing kale pache , the baklava and the cozy atmosphere. Also the host was so amazing and knew Farsi words despite not being Persian.
Best Persian restaurant in Houston. I have tried many different Persian restaurants all over Texas. This by far is the best restaurant in portion size, food quality, pricing, and customer service. I will deathly be back here with my family. Loved the kebabs. Can’t go wrong, if you’re near Hillcroft area.
