I came to Cafe Abuja to eat with my family on Saturday it was very busy but the food came out on time and the presentation of the dish was spectacular the customer service was great they let us know what was out of stock beforehand I love the vibe of the restaurant they had afrobeats playing in the background it was amazing it reminded me of home. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if I could give more than 5 stars I would my family and I will be returning.
What happened? I used to frequent this restaurant when they opened and they were amazing food and customer service . However my recent experience was very poor and knowing the expectations of the owner Tiffany I’m just disappointed. I was on hold for 15 mins to place to go order. By the time someone came back to the line I was already at the restaurant to order in person. While waiting I had no issues but I should have checked my bag because I got the completely wrong order. I ordered 2 orders of the tilapia pepper soup and received chicken instead for both orders. My food was cold and the amount of white rice provided with the meal was so little it was laughable. For the amount paid I expect better.
I visited this location with my 2 kids and husband. Both my kids meals was not what was ordered, they both was disappointed. We choose not to complain due to waiting a long time for the food to arrive, we had other things to do and my kids was already getting impatient.Overall the food was good. I always give places 2 times before I avoid them. I plan on visiting again with only myself and my husband.
I’m very disappointed. After waiting one hour to receive my order, my bowl of bitterleaf soup was full of oil. There was very little soup. Also, my beef was extremely tough. I’m very familiar with Nigerian food. I know what is decent and what is rubbish. A total waste of $98.00.
I came into Cafe Abuja because I normally enjoy the food. Well tonight was a disaster. I not only waited over an hour for my order (expected), but they tell me no Nkwobi to yes we got enough for 3 orders. I only needed two. I waited for this rationing of what looks like cow ears mixed with gizzards. Bad business? why lie to take ppl money for nothing. Before anyone says anything no I didn’t look inside the bag before I left bc the wait was already long enough. I figured good business people would do right. I guess not. They got paid but I didn’t get what I paid for. That $47.64 for the Nkwobi will be the last. Thanks for nothing. The sad part about the entire situation was the owners were there and assisting in this terrible service.
Almost suffered food poisoning today at this eatery. I ordered a plate of peppered snail and was served rotten, decayed and bitter tasting snails. I literally spat the food out, paid my bills and left. The bitter and horrible taste stayed all day in my mouth and my stomach is upset as well. I'll never visit this place again
Wait time is a little long but so worth it food is fresh and very flavorful
Some rude comments below. Giving 4 star to balance the hatred. People too salty about wait times. Fufu very fluffy, pepper soup had good meat portions, egusi not grainy, malt cold, party rice on point. It might not be as good as your mothers food, but compared to some other restaurant it is very good. You have to support those that are at least on the road to doing it right- most places miss the mark completely. Very clean restaurant - could change their music to mp3 from cd for a better experience
Great service, great food. I’ve been eating here with my family intermittently for over three years. It’s been a pleasure watching the business evolve to be better. Best Nigerian restaurant in Houston in my opinion. Price may be a bit high but you pay for quality food and service.
Worst African restaurant I have ever been. I ordered for isiewu only to be served some watery concoction soup with only 2 small goat skin like things and they charged $27 with tip… good it was refunded. But that was my last visit to that restaurant.
