The #1 best restaurant in the Houston area. Out of the hundreds I have eaten at, this is the most authentic, delicious, and unique of them all. Their atmosphere is beautiful and unassuming. Their staff is very friendly, welcoming, informative, and attentive. When you walk in, you are greeted with a soft smell of incense. The decorations are tastefully placed without being obstructive or overbearing. The food is to die for. ALL of their dishes are amazing. From the veggie combination to the Kitfo, you CANNOT go wrong with this place. After eating their delicious food, i am always left with a unique "afterglow" feeling. If I could only eat one more meal before I passed on, it would be here. This place is seriously one of the best restaurants ever and is my absolute favorite of them all. I would give them a million stars if I could.

I can’t say enough about this place! From the staff to the food to the restrooms, every bit of it AMAZING! It was my first time here and our waitress explained every single detail of the experience! We had a sampler dish and WOW! The ambiance was beautiful, place is super clean. You must try the coffee. My friend doesn’t even drink coffee but LOVED theirs!! Some of the foods had a bit of spice, which I love, but nothing over the top spicy. We will DEFINITELY be back!! Glad I heard about this place on the Michael Berry show!!

There's something for everyone here. As vegetarians we enjoyed what was on offer. The pistachio cake was superb too. We went here despite, some negative reviews here. I hope those guys can give them a second chance.

Dear foodies, it is always fun to try something new.... We have been wanting to try Ethiopian food for so long, and I know this Houston staple has been around. We loved the location, it has so much charm inside. The service is a bit slow, but not too bad. The food made it's way fairly quickly. We started with veggie samosas, they were really good, a little different from Indian ones. Then we got quite a few items to try, since we did not know where to begin. I got the veggie platter, I really liked it, the cabbage was my favorite. We also had a lamb, and beef dish, the lamb was excellent. I would suggest it over the beef. The bread was so different from anything I have ever tried, it has the texture of a pancake, but it is not sweet. Foodies let me know your thoughts on that. The kids loved the baklava for dessert, it was really yummy. Go adventure today!

First time here - and in short, we loved it. I will be back and recommend it to others. We were looking to get out of our routine of the same Italian and Asian restaurants and this came through in a big way.Flavors were awesome, staff were very friendly and helpful, ambiance was good.We way over ordered for 2 people. The social platter and extra salad we ordered could’ve easily fed 4… but we got leftovers so that’s fine. Would be a great family style eating experience for a group. Smaller parties beware not to get too much because the portions are fairly large. There was a heavy incense smell inside, which we like but some people might dislike depending on their sensitivity.

There should be a zero star category for this place. We visited as guests of good friends on a Saturday night. Despite a mostly empty dining room, there was almost no service. Nothing on the table and no visits from waitstaff for 45 minutes or an hour after we placed our order. When dinner eventually arrived, it was a platter with unidentifiable piles of stews. We had ordered the family dinner, supposedly more than enough for four people, but it was more the size of dinner for 2.5 people, and it cost $130. Of course, there was no waiter to tell us what was in the stews, and the "lamb" stew was in fact lamb bones with a mediocre sauce. It was flatly terrible, expensive, and took way too long.

The food was Sooo good! Different textures and spices. It was our first time eating Ethiopian food and we will be back. If you are like us, and not familiar with Ethiopian food it sits somewhere between Middle Eastern and Indian. Yummie rice, fish, salad, veggies some sour, some cooked in a stew, and served with a bread, thin light and fermented similar to sourdough, but with the texture of a pancake.

Ok, I knew nothing about Ethiopian food until tonight and you know what? It's pretty good! We shared the family meal which had several dishes of lamb, beef and vegetables. The spices made the dishes pop with flavor. We were looking for something different and got it. Had fun and enjoyed the experience.

I am a big fan of their vegetarian combination. The portion is big enough for me to eat it as 2 meals. I also enjoy their tea that have unique taste. The atmosphere in restaurant is very nice and intimate. And the meals are ready in about 10 minutes so no long wait time.

Blue Nile is definitely a step out of the norm for most people, but if you like a little bit of spice and flavor in your life, you need to try it. My wife and I have usually gotten the Kitfo and Vegetarian Combination done family style. It's a spicy pile of food that will leave you stuffed and satisfied.
