Saw a YouTube channel I watch go here and loved it.Went a few days back with the kiddos to try something new, and was pleasantly surprised. The tamales were great and the sides are good as well. Beans were runny but good flavors. Took home some frozen black bean with cheese and chicken and they were great for frozen! Would recomend this restaurant to anyone who loves tamales.Edit. Prices are great. Good for budget meal out
The Ladies and I were in town today hanging out on our way to the Lake saw a cool place named after my husband Tommy and I jokingly said let’s stop in to surprise him. I jumped out went inside and felt the nice vibes, loved the fresh colors, people were very nice and polite got my order quickly as well and I was on my way. We begin eating the Tamales oh my goodness … DELICIOUS!! I purchased different flavors the chicken beef pork and we were so full. I highly recommend this place to all you won’t regret it!!
We just recently moved to Grapevine and After the online reviews and tips from my neighbor, this must be THE place for tamales. I ordered the 2 tamale plate (pork) with spanish rice and Charro beans. The tamales were literally 1/2 the size of any tamale I've ever seen or eaten. The taste was average. Not bad, but nothing overwhelming superb. They tasted like every other pork tamale I've had. However the Charro beans were excellent sides as well as the spanish rice. The salsa served with the tamales was good, but nothing to write home about. We also had a side of chips with their supreme dip. Now THAT was very good as it had queso, chili, sour cream, guacamole, etc in the dip. All told, we got full, but not because of the tamales, but the sides helped to get us full. I'll go back and try another meat for the tamales. My grade... B- for the whole experience. However, for a restaurant boasting of their tamales in their namesake, the tamales should be bigger than 4" long, 1" wide and 3/4" high and contain a bit more meat so you can actually taste the flavors
A local told us of this place to eat and it was close to our hotel so we tried it out. The food was great. I had tamale plate and my husband had a quesadillas plate. The menu was very limited and it wasn't set up like a restaurant but like a little eat in at a corner store.
Great food, awesome staff members that always seem happy to be there. We don’t find the price to be expensive; I’m able to get two meals out of a $9 tamale pie. Good place for Tex-Mex and everything we’ve tried so far has been seasoned well. I think it’s great how well Tommy handles criticism, and how open he is to suggestions. His replies are professional and truthful. I LOVE seeing owners respond to comments, I just think it’s nice to communicate with customers even if it’s just a quick “we appreciate you coming in”.
Some great food here, exceptional service. The tamale bowl is a great menu item. Filling! Tamales to go as well, can't be beat
My son has decided this is “our place” - always the best tamales, chips, etc!
Best ever! The tommy bowl and hatch pork are our favorite! Great prices and service.
Tommy, his wife and their crew give the place a small town feeling with how they interact with each customer in a very personable way. Add to this some of the best tamales I've had in the DFW area it equals a great experience.
Great tamales at a fantastic price! Will be making WEEKLY stops to keep stock in my freezer
