Food is pretty good. Great fish tacos when they have them. A lot of upgrades to the place with the new owners. Bring your own alcohol!
We went on a midweek lunch- and was very quiet. We had the most idyllic lunch, sat out in the sun- eating burgers, onion strings and fries. The kids loved watching the big fish swimming round and even saw some turtles - would highly recommend!
We had a fantastic experience eating here. It was incredibly clean for an outdoor eatery. There was entertaining live music and the views from the upper deck were lovely. We enjoyed watching all the boats coming and going. The kids enjoyed feeding the ducks and the fish off the docks. The burgers were tasty and appeared to be handmade. One person in our group had a live ladybug in their lettuce and tomato pile that was on the side. When they took it up to the counter, a whole new burger plate was made for them. We would definitely come here again for a pleasant weekend meal if we’re in the area.
Delicious! Try the fried Gouda! Wow! I would have given it five stars but there was a long line for orders to be taken and only one person taking orders. Other than that, we had a wonderful time!
Big Daddy's is a place to BYO Beers, Buddies, and Boats. Ducks, carp, and turtles beg for your fries, but you can purchase small bags of fish food to keep them happy. Their burgers are consistently excellent and customers come right off the water to enjoy them. Paddle or motor up and walk right into the restaurant.
Though the wait times to order can be long on the weekends, and the ordering process is quirky, having a great Big Daddy's burger out on the lake is worth all the wait and silliness.I usually get the Spicy Burger, topped with a chopped mixture of marinated peppers on top of the nicely cooked lean patty, topped with fresh leafy green lettuce, ripe tomato slice and fresh onions.Try their fried jalapeno slices instead of the great fries...Or order a generous side of each for sharing with friends.Live music out on the floating dock on the weekends is fun, and BYOB means you can have your favorite adult beverages along with that excellent burger.
Good food. I had the catfish plate. We sat outside and listened to some good live music overlooking the lake/ docks. Ducks like to be very close to get fed. Someone was feeding them Frenchfries. Nice for the kids to enjoy a well as adults. Price wasn't bad. Was actually quite reasonable but don't think sitting outside is a fine dining experience. Inside seating looked to be nice but who can pass up music and an evening that's just right.We plan to return again for sure. The seafood was good and seemed fresh. Not every seafood type of restaurant can claim that.
Beautiful day to be at Big Daddys. My only concern is the price of a small hamburger (no cheese) is $12, fries are additional cost. I'll definitely be back, will eat before I go.
We have been here several times in the past and always had an enjoyable experience. However, we drove almost an hour to get here and had the worst experience. Had to wait almost an hour for our food and then when we received it the sides were cold and the burgers burnt. Now I know it’s spring break and they were busy, and we could have forgiven that if it wasn’t for the very disappointing quality of the food. Almost an hour wait with a toddler and she would not eat it.
Nice outdoor pier on Lake Grapevine. Ambience is nice. Burgers pretty good and onion straps.
