Best barbecue I've ever had. Don't judge this place by it's outside appearance. The food is amazing and the Father, daughter that run this family business are very friendly and accommodating. Don't skip the barbecue sauce it really compliments the meat. Had brisket, pulled, pork and turkey sausage and the portions were huge. My friend had the same but added the loaded potatoe that was ginormous. Will be back on my next trip!!!
wHaT A PLAcE tO EAT! Us guys from Indy knew we was in for a treat as soon as we pulled up!!!These folks here were happy to feed us (absolutely full) with unforgettable charm and company while we ate… all while you could tell they were as happy to be there! We ate REAL food- I had Brisket, Ribs, Sausage, Baked Potato, Green Beans, and Real TEXAS Toast! The BBQ was Portioned to PERFECTION!Nothing was bulk processed or trucked in. You can tell Mike & his Daughter are selective about the starting ingredients and are sure about every plate they serve over that counter. Can’t get that at near any other place.(Ask about how Mike’s BBQ here was worked through channels @ NASA by Astronauts after having eaten here!)HINT: If the Restaurant Grounds are Well Established, the food and the service is genuine and has achieved a level of desirability held among any customers fortunate enough to have come here - and that’s absolutely true for this place. They’re a Short drive from DFW, best to consider a first AND last stop if you’re visiting!Mike also mentioned they cater. (Catering incoming visitors with Food from Mike’s RPBBQ would surely go favorably!)More work ahead for us in Dallas and this will be a fixture for us! See you in the Fall! Save us a Plate!
If you're in the area and need some good bbq Mike's is the place to stop. It may not look like much on the outside but the grub definitely makes up for the curb appeal. I got the one meat plate and subbed my 2 sides for one large baked potato. Drink, taxes and all came to about 16.50 which isn't bad considering the cost of meat currently. The bbq sauce wasn't what I would consider traditional or typical but was good all the same. Not a single bad thing to say about the food. Walked away very full, wondering how I'm going to finish the work day with this food baby.
Nothing to write home about. I really enjoyed the beans and as others have stated the sauce is great. The thing about Texas brisket is it shouldn’t rely on sauce at all. The brisket and sausage tasted more like meats from a deli where they label mayonnaise as spicy. The brisket was dry and the sausage lacked flavor. I think this place could be great if they made a few adjustments. Specifically on seasoning. Even the corn felt as if it had been drifting in water for far too long. Hope to come back and try again in the future to see if I just hit a weird day.
Food here is amazing! BBQ sauce is out-of-this-world great. Staff and owner are super nice and friendly people. IMHO, this is a true BBQ spot! Feels like home (cozy/comfortable) and they have it all: ***** Dine-In (lot's of booths and tables), ***** Drive-thru window (great lunch spot), ***** PRETTY SURE THEY DO CATERING TOO. THANK YOU MIKE! FORD 7.3L DIESEL FROM KATY, TX.
