I was looking for a new place to try for dinner and decided to try Don Juan's Romantic Mexican Food. I had seen ads for them for years but had never been. Google reviews looked promising, and they were clear this is a Tex-Mex place. We knew what to expect and were ready! Rolled in to the drive-thru and saw the menu and daily specials. Thursday, the day we went, was taco day so that was an obvious choice. We also got cheese enchiladas, beef enchiladas, and chili con queso. The tacos reminded me of crispy, homestyle Texas tacos and I enjoyed them. Not too greasy and a good amount of toppings. Shells were crisp even after a 10 minute drive home which was a pleasant surprise. The beef enchiladas were nice, and the cheese enchiladas were ok but the cheese filling wasn't consistent. One had almost no cheese, but the other two had a good amount. The chili sauce is spicy and flavorful. I didn't care for the chili con queso which is cheese sauce with chili on top. Mixed up it was a fine dip but not what I was expecting. Overall, I think the taco deal is good and I will be back to try other things on the menu.

Don Juan's is a Grand Prairie gem. Every time we go my mind is flooded with memories from my childhood and the many stories my dad told me.The restaurant is small, and a reminder of how thing were 75 years ago.We ordered tacos and combination burritos in bulk on this visit to take home for a bunch of guests at our place. The food was prepared quickly and accurately. All of it was delicious. If you ever need a quick snack for a bunch of people, choosing Don Juan's is a good choice.

Hubby said dinner tonight was a surprise ?He took me here.We ❤ Mexican food and this place was quaint and inviting ☺Hubby had the tamale plate & I had the taco ? plate. It was all very good and affordable ?Service was nice. ?I'll be back for sure ?Oh, and for you ice lovers out there, they serve crushed ice ??

I Love This Place, Has its own vibe goin on.... MY GOTO IS THE ALL MEAT BURRITO WITH SHREDDED CHEESE. NO ONIONS

The last time I went I dined in . Usually I take out. Very Polite Employees. I always enjoy Don Juan's food & prices. What more do I want.!!!!

This place was charming and VERY old, (they said the building was a lot older than the restaurant and the restaurant has been around since the 1960’s) I will say it has character. The food was ok, not great but not horrible either. It was tasty. The enchiladas were tasty but greasy. I had cheese on my chips instead of guacamole, my son said the guacamole was good, the cheese was cold. It was pretty inexpensive for the amount of food we got. It was plentiful. The staff was very friendly. The things I did not like….. the restroom (single stall cramped) uni sex closet is actually in back behind the kitchen exit. Outside. Get the code so you can get in, since it’s locked for safety. There are only like 5 small tables and some counter stools left over from the 60’s to sit at Overall it was interesting, you get what you pay for. Cheap gets cheap

I absolutely love this place! It can get a little busy at times but here's why:On Thursdays they have 5 tacos for $4 dollars plus tax. They have other daily specials but I'm partial to taco Thursdays lol.

I absolutely love this place. My dad took me as a child and now I take my children. The food is excellent and always on point.

Very good food and prices. Love the daily specials!

Good food and applaud them for making due with short staff. Truly love it
