The food here was excellent! They serve a wide variety of traditional recipes including many wonderful seafood offerings. I had the chili rellenos, which was very good served with a homemade guacamole the had a bit of spice to it.The star, however, was the tamales that my wife had. They were moist and flavorful. This place is worth going out of your way to visit!
Went to lunch around 2:30p. The wait wasn’t very long. Service was alright: very short conversations before she left. Food came out quick. Ordered the beef chimichanga. It was great! It was small though so if you’re hungry like I was I would order the dinner plate. The salsa wasn’t very flavorful. I would come again
Waited 25 minutes. Right on time per their estimate. Since there were so many locals waiting and the reviews were good, we thought we were in for a treat. We were not!Service terrible. Food terrible. 10 dollar margarita in a solo cup, terrible. How do you stay in business? Must be because you're the only restaurant within 20 min drive.
Ok. I lived in Mexico as a child until I was about 7 years old, then again as an adult from 1988 until 2005. I know my Mexican food. Today was my first time to Garcia's and I ordered a Chimichanga, my wife ordered fish. She was not happy because she wanted grilled fish and was served fried fish, but she seemed to like it just the same (my wife is Mexican so she knows, of course her Mexican food). I was pleased with my plate, the Chimichanga was tasty, the sour cream and miniscule serving of guacamole were good. I did not enjoy the rice, but that is really no reflection on the restaurant, I am simply not a fan of what they call in Mexico "sopa de aroz" being rice with tomato sauce, and the beans were ok but nothing special. The restaurant was clean, the service was decent, people were friendly and polite, the price (and I am a tight wad) was reasonable. I will go back the next time I feel like Mexican food. In conclusion, I would recommend giving this place a try.
Visiting the area and wanted some Mexican food and good margaritas so we came here based on reviews. I wish we would have went somewhere else. There was a wait which we thought was a good sign, not the case. I will say they quoted us 20-25 minutes for our party of 10 and we were sat in 25 minutes so i will give them props for that. The service was pretty bad, food was not good and margaritas were overpriced and just alright. Now I will say I love my mexican food so I am pretty picky, but the fajitas were terrible, I seriously can get better fajitas a Chili's. The chicken was so dry and chewy, I literally had to choke it down and it had no flavor at all. For the price we paid I would have expected a lot more.
We really enjoyed Garcia's. The service was truly fantastic. I had the ribeye tacos and my husband had the fajitas. We were both very pleased with the quantity and quality of the food for the price. We will definitely return.
we visited Garcias several months ago and really liked it so we visited again today and it was just not good at all. Maybe the chef was having an off day, but that wasn't the real problem I ordered the Pollo Ala Mexicana, the description was chicken strips with tomatoes, peppers and onions for $13.95. The wife ordered the chicken enchiladas for $9.95. The food was ok at best. I received chicken chunks which had no real taste. We had to ask for additional salsa and it took forever. But the real reason I will not recommend came at the end. The price "on the menu beside the description was $13.95 when we received the check the price was $15.95. We asked the hostess about it and she rather flippantly said "it says on our menu prices are subject to change." I suppose it's too much to ask to change the menu prices instead of placing a small notice "somewhere" on the menu and leaving the menu prices as they are??. very disappointed, won't return.
My fav Mexican food in town. We like to take this to go and it is always packaged nicely with complementary chips and salsa. Would prefer some spicier options, but overall a solid choice.
Very good chips and salsa! Food is delicious and well priced definitely get your money's worth! If you like margaritas their top shelf margarita is amazing!
Friendly staff, wonderful family atmosphere, delicious food and tasty drinks. Garcias is the best Mexican restaurant in Granbury! MUST visit!
