I would not recommend trying to book a private event here. Communication was extremely poor the entire time. We had an appointment to meet with their event coordinator and she didn't show up. However, we didn't think it was a big deal. The owner and another worker met with us and showed us the room. They told us to email them what we would like to serve, so we did. We sent the email on May 19th. No reply, so I followed up via email on May 22. No reply, so we went in and talked to someone and told them what we wanted to serve. They gave us a price and we said that it sounds good. When it finally came time to pay, they added $1,427 to the agreed upon price which we have a copy of. This is even after they tried to change the large room free from $400 to over $1,000+. They agreed to keep the room fee at the price they quoted, but stated that they couldn't keep the other prices that they quoted. Very sad to see such a dishonest company.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant. We went there for lunch on a Sunday. We were surprised to got a table right away. We were going to a play at 2 o’clock and made it on time. The first time in a long time I have been to a restaurant and my food was actually hot not medium warm. The service was excellent and very pleasant. Our server was always happy and seemed to enjoy her job.
I Absolutely love Farinas! The staff are attentive and just delightful (even on days that they are short-staffed they work hard to really give you a great experience). The back patio is dog friendly, I often go and enjoy their WONDERFUL pizza and a glass of wine with my Sheltie. The last time I went (about a month ago) I had the baked whitefish which was fantastic. The inside of the restaurant has a lovely ambiance and is great for date nights. Get reservations for Friday and Saturday nights, other evenings you can usually walk in with a little (15-20 minute) wait.
First time to Farina's was for Father's Day Brunch......one person making custom omelettes (30 plus minute wait), and the buffet was out of just about everything. One customer complained about waiting 20 minutes or more on gravy for the biscuits. We went elsewhere, after waiting over 30 minutes. Second time to Farina's the service was AWFUL, long time before we were waited on. Worst steak I have ever had, all fat. Last night I tried to take my mother there (at her request) at 6pm before we went to the Granbury Opera House. We were asked if we had reservations, and if not, it was a 45 minute wait. I tried calling for FIVE days prior to make reservations (all made during their work hours) and I either received messages that said "we are sorry, we are not able to take your call now, call later" or "I'm sorry, our mailbox is full". Sorry Farina's - 3 strikes, your'e out!
My husband and I each had lasagna and house salad. Both were very good. The salad was a Mediterranean salad and was very cold and crisp.
I have been going to Farinas, once a month every month since early 2014. I have scheduled two events there over the years. I have NEVER had such an awful experience.The server took 3 of 8 drink orders, delivered them and came back 18 min later for the other five drinks.4 of 8 ordered the potato sausage soup which is usually something that is phenomenal. The entire group agreed it had never been bad, much less awful. It was the consistency of water.When the server brought our salads out, she dropped one of the salad dressings on me. Although she apologized, she never brought me anything to clean up.I ordered salmon. The salmon wasn’t rare it was raw.We wanted dessert. They never offered and just brought us a check.Finally, because we we a party of 8 they added 20% gratuity.
Food was fantastic! Great selection of beers and wine! Tiffany was exceptional and made a great end to my birthday! I'll be sure to come back though again!
Super nice staff and casual atmosphere. I did leave disappointed. Their Baked Alfredo grilled chicken dish tasted like it was something bought frozen and the sauce tasted like flour. The chicken was not fresh. Unfortunately, I ordered the spinach artichoke dip in its place and it too was just not ok. I wanted to love this place. I came for my 21st anniversary!! My husband had the grilled samon and it needed help too. All in all just disappointed.
Dry, crumbling mashed potatoes. Child running back and forth between rooms was very distracting.Otherwise, nice atmosphere. Steak was good. Service was fast and friendly.Had it not seemed like a playground for toddlers, I would have enjoyed it a lot more. You order an expensive meal, you don't expect the entertainment' to be an unsupervised 4 yo running on hard wood floors in cowboy boots.. BACK N FORTH ... REPEATEDLY.
My wife and I took a rare date night to Granbury and chose Farina’s for dinner. What a great choice! We were seated quickly, and the service, food, and drinks were perfect. We also loved the atmosphere. We’d love to eat there again soon!
