Power was out this evening so I looked for a good cool place for dinner. Asian sounded good so I finally got around to trying Shanghai Express. Good clean basic casual restaurant. Mostly take out while I was there. Service was OK, not fabulous but decent. I had an egg roll that was really crispy and tasty, then my go-to Moo Goo Gai Pan that was really good. Darker sauce than usual but very tasty. I've eaten a ton of Asian food all over the country and this was very good. Overall I recommend Shanghai Express.
Really enjoyed the Pu Pu platter and the sesame chicken. This is by far the best Chinese restaurant we have visited so far. Once we find a place we are very loyal and this is our new Chinese spot!
The first thing i noticed was the decor. Omg this place is beautiful. The food came fast, my waiter was awesome. What i love most is that i did not feel rushed as the restaurant started to fill up.Food was delicious i has combination lo mein. For the price the portion of food you get is awesome.
Food is great, hours suck .. almost every time I want to go there, it's closed. The closed in the middle of the day is the worst part of it.
Could use a remodel inside but the food was very good. Our server was very nice and helpful. It sounds funny but I recommend the Pu-Pu platter sampler. Very nice presentation with the fire in the middle. Good Georgetown spot for Chinese dine in or take out
I have a lot to say about this place. First the general tso chicken was amazing. The beef lo mein was really good as well tasted so fresh and perfectly seasoned. The egg rolls are amazing like people were saying. We also got chicken fried rice and it came with so much like a huge plate of it and it was delicious! Also the prices for lunch are really good for my wallet. Totally recommend this place to everyone who’s in the area or passing through.
To whom it may concern,My name is Alex Blank, a local resident of Georgetown. I would like to make the community aware that I just registered a health/food violation against Shanghai Express at:900 N Austin Ave #606, Georgetown, TX 78626This evening I was served beef and rice from Shanghai Express' Kitchen that contained pieces of a steel wool scrubbing brush which cut the inside of my mouth.Frankly speaking I have never filed any sort of complaint against a restaurant until now, and I thought I could atleast make the community aware.
Sarah is very courteous and kind, so is her sister Stephanie but she was off today. Soup was awesome , hot and tasty, that I had to go back for a second serving! My pregnant wife is always craving it, and I finally tried it and really enjoyed it!
The food was not all that great. I didn't like the prices, I paid almost $3 for a soda the size of a small soda at McDonald's. I ordered orange chicken and there was nothing orange chicken about it and it seems very stale not fresh at all. It was an evening meal purchase so maybe they served me the leftovers from earlier in the day.
Food is decently good with take out but if you try to dine in here be prepared for a wait, me and my wife wanted to just relax after a bad day and yet from walking in the door with no one in front of us it took 90 mins before we left, 10 to be seated wait to be even recognized and when we left a table that walked in behind us had gotten seated meal, and receipt while we hadn't gotten our food yet.
