I don't know if the new owner to going to be able to pull it together. I'm sure everyone who loved it before are always a bit disappointed now. I've seen many a restaurant go down hill with change in ownership. Their challenge is usually a lot of debt and they cut corners. The old place uses to run in a hole near a hospital. But the magnet was the incredible food. It's a lot like telling your wife that she doesn't cook like your mother. But that is where the problem is . New customer may think it's ok. But not anyone who loved it before.
Went to this place for dinner at around 6 and it was almost empty, the perfect time for me since I don’t like busy places. The place looked very fancy and our server, Tatianna, was super friendly! The garlic rolls were literally the best I’ve ever had, I honestly would go here just for those if I could! I got the jumbo calzone with pepperoni, and it was so big but so delicious. I finished the entire thing! The restaurant did have quite a few flies flying around and bugging me while I ate though, which wasn’t very pleasant. But, over all, this place is definitely worthy of trying.
Best Italian Restaurant I have ever been to! I enjoyed the food!!
Such a long fall… sicilianos had the best broccoli cheese soup, fabulous garlic rolls, and fantastic lasagna. The house made salad dressing was incredible, and with green olives, this was as close to heaven as you could get in Garland. I respect what Vitto’s is trying to do, but they would have been better off opening nearby and competing. The salad, well, lettuce is not a salad. The rolls were dry, the food bland. This is not good Italian food, and sadly, it’s just not good food. They filled in the location of a part of the neighborhood, and they have done it in a very artificial way. The staff was nice enough, but the feel, taste, appearance just screams bland, money grab. Sorry, you won’t get any more of my money.
Used same sauce for seafood entree. The lasagna had more cheese and anything else presentation of the dish was to say the least amateur. Would I go there again, probably no.
Very very sad to have to leave this review. I’ve been going to this restaurant since I was a child, it was the best Italian food in town. When I heard they got new ownership I was hopeful, but after eating here today I don’t know if I’ll be back. The food was lacking the flavor and depth it used to have, the presentation of my meal was confused, and everything was watered down. I’m leaving it a two star review because the staff was truly amazing and attentive. Sorry guys, but this wasn’t it.
I guess a lot has changed which is understandable. Their garlic knots are always A1. I ordered my favorite dish, but it just wasn't the same. They were so nice and accommodating to remake my plate. I would possibly go again but not out of my way like last time.
Knots are great. Their house salad dressing has no flavor and very oily. Calzone was very greasy as well and no flavor. The staff was just standing around not paying attention. Would not recommend and will not be back.
Food was amazing, as always. We are originals back from when it was Sicilano's Taste of Italy and the food - especially the bread - is just as we remembered. We live about 45 minutes away now, and still occasionally make the trip to get our Italian fix. The Chicken Parmesan and the Tortellini are our favorites. Atmosphere and Service could use some minor improvements, but they are currently remodeling so hopefully that is coming soon. We'll definitely be back again.
Slow service; food not as good as in the pastWe ate there on a Saturday afternoon for a birthday party. We have eaten there many times in the past and always enjoyed our experience. Not this time!! The service was VERY SLOW!! The food was not up to the quality we have enjoyed in the past. We won't be back--look for somewhere else to eat. There are MANY excellent Italian restaurants in the Garland/Richardson/Plano area.
