Umi Sushi at Firewheel Center is a great spot to grab a quick bite of your favorite Asian food. Chicken fried rice is one of my favorites and the Volcano Roll (quite literally on fire) was as delicious as its presentation promised. I have 3 requirements for picking a sushi roll: not cooked, no fake crab meat, no cream cheese.Of their 36 specialty rolls, I believe only 5 meet these very broad requirements. Of those 5, I believe 3 or 4 have jalepeno in or on them. So while it initially looks like they have an amazing selection and are very creative, they either use cheapo filler (fake crab, cream cheese), or not the freshest fish (cooked to hide freshness).If you are looking for good raw fish rolls, this leaves a lot to be desired.Of the rolls that met my requirements, they were fine.
This place is amazing, hands down the best sushi place I’ve ever had! The customer service was excellent and the food was to die for!! The ambience of this restaurant is a calming atmosphere, thank you so much!
Food was good - but until i finished my food, i had noticed someone behind the sushi bar that was picking his nose. not sure if i will visit again after seeing that :(.
By far one of the best sushi restaurant that we have been to in DFW in a long time. They dont just look delicious, they're very flavorful and the waiters and very attentive. Highly recommend it.
Stopped by for dinner here last night. Staff was kind and quick to take our order and clear out any empty dishes. Rolls are huge so keep that in mind before ordering a bunch like we did. We were offered several rolls free of charge to try out, not sure what they were but they were also as delicious. Most rolls (at least the ones I've tried) are a little different than traditional which is pretty fun to try different flavors when it comes to sushi. If you're looking for something more traditional or simple this might not be the place in that case.Have also ordered takeout from here before and it was equally as great. Would easily come here again due to the service, food, and prices.
I come here often and each time I come is great! However this last visit 7/11/21 I was charged $89.52 when my receipt total was about 44 dollars.I was charged almost 2x the amount. I ordered 2 soft drinks, 1 chicken fried rice, 1 beef fried rice and a chefs special half chop chop and half castle rock, this totals to $42.45. How on earth was I charged $89.52????If you pay card keep your receipt and watch for added charges. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE..
My husband and I love this for a casual date night. Awesome sushi and byob too! Recommend the Rainbow Roll and the Sponge Bob special roll. Fantastic!
This place deserves more than 5 stars..BEST sushi ever, vibe was super chill, and the quality of the chefs can be seen in the food. You’re doing yourself a disservice by not eating here.
I went here a week ago with my aunt a week ago with my aunt because it's close, and I'm pleasantly surprised! The food was wonderful and the service was great. Every dish was beautifully plated and clean. Very refreshing, will be returning. I definitely recommend coming here
