I wanted to try a place I never had so I saw Houlihans and went in. I was definitely an upscale joint with dark wood bar, tables and chairs but also sports on the many monitors all around so I felt comfortable right away. Paulina greeted and seated me and took my drink order. She was back shortly with my drink and asked if I had ever been there before and asked if I had questions or if I was ready to order. I ordered the fish tacos with dumplings as an app. The dumplings were great but the dip was delicious. I'm not sure what's in it but it's fantastic. I saved some for my fish tacos and it put them over the top too. It's fairly expensive I paid $30+ for a soda, an app and tacos but you have to pamper yourself every now and then. Thanks Paulina and the rest of the staff at Houlihan's!

Houlihans has changed its menu and it is very limited. I am trying to watch my calorie intake so I ordered the filet mignon. When it arrived it didnât look great. It was stringy when I cut into it and it smelled bad. I thought it was the green beans so I took a bite. It was definitely bad. They replaced it with salmon, which was good, but the steak should have never been plated. They just need to close if they canât afford to serve decent food.
The have great appetizers at this location! Love artichoke dip, and dumplings Great drinks and perfect place for happy hours. And you can't go wrong with any of their entrees!
Houlihans Firewheel has been a great modern spot for the Garland area for a while. I remember frequenting Houlihans when it first opened and enjoyed the updated decor and variety of food and drinks on the menu at that time. Surprisingly this still holds up. Although the food and drinks options have changed slightly, I still enjoy the kind fast service and happy hour options. With that said. I took my family there for Fathers day 2022. Service great, Apps great, entrees were ok. I had the fathers day special of "half rack ribs". They were tasty, but there were only 4 ribs of this "half rack". that fell little short. Would have been nice to have 5-6 ribs. for the $25 or so. My Dad ordered the meatloaf and was excited. He eats anything and everything, but when we wrapped up and we were deciding on to go boxes, I looked over and he only took 2 bites of his meatloaf. I was quite surprised since he's usually the one to eat everything on the table. He said the meatloaf tasted sweet and it was very chewy. He said that he thought it was bad and/or overcooked. Luckily he was able to get he fill on the apps we ordered(shrooms, calamari, cauliflower). I wish my dad would had said something during dinner to get him a replacement. Everyone else enjoyed there entree's, burgers, filet, salads, etc. just the ribs and the meatloaf that day was oddly out of sorts.
I always come for the scallops. My husband always gets something different. He just got the hamburger. He said it was great. The meat was so good. We had the best waitress ever this time. We are gluten free so putting the GS on the menu was a plus for us.
Jordan the front house manager went above and beyond allowing us to eat outside. He had 2 servers call off for today, meaning he was extremely short staffed and had closed the patio. My husband had called ahead of time and explained our situation, Josh has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and other underlying health conditions, so eating inside is NOT an option right now. They had asked the manager and said it was no problem.When we got there Jordan came out and explained what was going on, and decided right then and there he was going to take care of us, even being short staffed. He felt bad because it wasn't as fast of service as he would have liked, but for my husband and I it was perfect.We even asked if the chef could chop up my husband's fish so he could eat it a little better, and he said he would see what he could do. The food was PERFECT. The fish was cut up so finely my husband could eat it and I cleaned my plate, which I never do.Just as I was running low on soda, Jordan brings me a refill, and to say it was a refill is putting it lightly. I didn't even ask for it. He just showed up with it and got me a new to go one for me.This was the first time eating AT a restaurant, even if it was outside, in almost 3 years. Jordan we just can't express our gratitude enough for all that you and the restaurant did!!
