Quality establishment all around! House margaritas for $3 on Wednesdays are a great deal. The tacos are my favorite here, especially with a side of chimichurri if I’m having beef tacos. Also recommend the Texas Tornado which is their house sangria and frozen margarita swirled. The servers are always so nice. Always a good dinner crowd here no matter the night of the week.
I don’t like to post negative reviews, but I came to this place for two reasons: 1) 4.6 stars on Google 2) Relatively close proximity to my place.I enjoy writing reviews and generally post good reviews when I come across a place that I thoroughly enjoy or that surprises me in a good way. This experience was neither. It was my first visit and I’m not sure if I’ll try it again.I’m going to keep this as constructive as possible. The ordering and curb-side pick up process were flawless! Great job there. The food, however, had no flavor. I ordered the beef fajitas, swapped the bean soup with refried beans, and added a side of rice. Upon opening the to-go container, I was not greeted with what I would expect after paying almost $20. The beef was hammered super thin, most likely cooked either last night or today around lunch time and then reheated (it was barely warm after my 7 minute drive home). The onions were also not cooked, as they maybe kissed the grill for about 30 seconds, and were definitely not cooked with the meat, which would also add flavor to the dish. The rice suffered the same fate. Being cooked without the use of flavor and then being reheated before breaking up the clump of cold rice.I hope for the sake of this restaurant, that my experience was an outlier. For those looking at this place for a first time visit, maybe try dine-in so that if the food is as lacking in quality or freshness as mine was, you haven’t already payed for it and you can try something else.
Excellent service, a great variety of dishes are offered. The food was very tasty, and had authentic flavors. The House margaritas are excellent. The restaurant was very clean as were the bathrooms. We will definitely be coming back again.
I go to Desparados at least once every two to three weeks. I usually order the fajitas for 2, which is a $35 dinner plate plus drinks. This last time, the amount of beef fajitas seemed to dwindled like luncheon portions, which costs less. Usually, they have been consistent until this last time. Not sure if there's a food shortage going on, as well. I hope this was a one time oversight, otherwise it's too costly and go back to Julio's.
Fantastic! Family owned (45 years), great food, friendly. Random selection for us that day. What a great experience! Happy Hour runs what seems like forever! House margaritas- are great! We were there on Taco Thursday- what a great meal. The staff knew it was our first visit.. over the top to make everything perfect!
Have been going there for decades always good service, good drinks , and great people
wonderful staff, fun atmosphere and amazing food and margaritas ?
The main draw here is their quirky tacos made with fried flour tortillas. They're pretty good, if not mostly for their abnormality. Otherwise it's pretty standard Tex-Mex in a dated yet nostalgic-feeling dining room.
A good Tex Mex location. I had their Shrimp cocktail. Excellent. So was their Hot sauce.
Visiting from out-of-town and decided to try this place. The atmosphere is great, and the food is even better. Will definitely eat here again.
