Great food and atmosphere. Margaritas were delicious, portions were generous and everyone loved their food. More variety on the kids menu than usual so the littles were happy. Chicken breast with the creamy jack cheese sauce was outstanding.
We went here twice because the food was so delicious, great options, great prices, and great service. Either margaritas and mojitos were delicious too. The portions are big and you get a great view. Must try if you’re in Galveston.
We had such a great time here, we came back a second time during our week vacation. We sat at the bar and Javier took really great care of us! Chips and salsa were delicious. We had fajitas the first night which were wonderful. The second time we had the stuffed jalapenos and tacos. WOW. The jalapenos were sooo good. Javier makes really great margaritas and made us feel so welcome!!!
Walked in at 2:59.....stand there at the hostess space for about a minute before being greeted....Inquired about the lunch special times and was told It just ended at 3:00 pm....even though I was there before 3:00 pm....I was refused....SO.....you guys just lost a loyal repeat customer over your being tightwads....BYE BYE
Visited Tortuga on Easter Sunday. We chose to sit on their patio, which has a lovely view of the Gulf. It's separated by the highway and highway noise, but still nice and shaded. The tables were not in great repair, but I guess that is the price of a restaurant in the salt air.Service was good. Food was tasty, if unremarkable. They offer margarita flights, which were adorable and delicious. My husband really liked the prickly pear, but my favorite was the house lime. Tortuga is a good spot for Mexican classics. We would visit again..
Not sure why this place is so highly rated. My husband and I gave this place a second chance, but we’re very disappointed. Second time the service has been horrible, second time our food hasn’t been made right. WARNING if you are vegetarian do not eat the “vegetarian friendly dishes” they are prepared on the same service right next to the meat. This is the second time I’ve had meat in my vegetarian dish. My husbands burrito was %70 raw poorly chopped onions. My dish was undercooked veggies, i asked if double shrimp and no fish and i got a tiny piece of fish in the mix and 5 small pieces of shrimp …I am a chef and honestly it looks like our dishes were prepared by a blind one armed monkey. Sorry to say we will not be giving this a third try.

Having a Margarita and looking at the ocean are two great pluses for me. Here you get a wonderful atmosphere and food. My servings were large and loved their recipes for the stuffed jalapeño peppers, rice, and beans. Excellent food and service.
We enjoyed our meals! Seemed to take care with the different meals and flavors. Our two meals were served with different types of rice and also beans. Was busy but wait wasn’t too long. We went for a walk and they called when table was ready. Would recommend!
Great Mexican restaurant! We were here for a dinner during spring break (was a little bit of a wait). The food was super good. Even the chips and guacamole! Food was well prepared and Javier makes a good margarita.
