What a waste of time, money and space!! We waited an hour and 40 min for canned queso with stale chips, cold onion rings and over cooked shrimp. No apologies or explanation when we asked about our order. Valuable vacation time lost that we will never get back!
Tipsy Turtle is located at a very uncrowded location of Galveston Beach, they have ample amount of parking and the good part is you can grab a quick bite from the place during your time at the beach as its entrance is facing the beach. The have clean washrooms and sit out area is open so you can enjoy the view of the sea while enjoying food and drinks. Unfortunately I didn't eat there hence cannot provide the feedback on food.
Had a beautiful Thursday, to go grab happy hour. We tried tipsy turtle. Parking can be an issue during peak times. Also our beers were in can that weren't very cold. They were just icing everything down when we arrived. There is no indoor seating. It is a do it yourself set up. If you want fast service sit at the bar. The Gulf Front view is beautiful and the angle in which the building is located you get an entire panorama of the Gulf. This is a daytripper, vacation type of stop, as you can drive there or walk up from the beach. If you forgot something for the beach they have a small store see picture for ideas.
This place has fun outdoor vibes! It's all outdoor seating and you go up and order yourself. The food portions are huge!! Pictured is the Philly, gator bites, and shrimp tacos. Definitely recommend for a beach side restaurant!
My daughter and I were at the restaurant Friday evening to get dinner to-go. I would not normally complain but I am floored by the terrible service and quality. I tried to call but the only numbers I can find are a dead end. First, we waited an hour for bar food to-go. Then our very simple orders from a very simple menu were all wrong. 1st: we ordered wings with a side of fries. No side of fries. We ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, add cheese, no bun sub lettuce and coleslaw as the side. There was no cheese, chicken was ice cold and just not good, no extra lettice and no coleslaw, or any side for the matter. Finally we ordered the Patty melt, that was edible at most. I staying next door. I would not normally complain, but I can not believe that this type of food is put out. Does nobody check orders when they deliver them? Unbelievable! The absolute worst place I have ever been to. Not only was the food terrible, no one cares. It's a large restaurant on the beach with walk up service!!!!? What?!!!!! There is nothing personal about this place. There is nothing special. You are better off going to McDonald's and lounging next to the dumpster. Just avoid it. Go down the road and save yourself time and frustration.
This place had so much potential, but I would not recommend or go back. The wait is ridiculously long. The food comes out of order, so we are eating at different times. We showed up before a huge late dinner rush and watched other who ordered after us get their food, eat, and leave while we were still waiting. Don't let horrible service ruin your good time, go anywhere else!
Great view and a great place to get a refreshment. The day we went, they must have been short handed. It was taking over an hour to get a meal and that was after standing in line for over 30 minutes. But I really wanted to try them out. Beer was cold!! Restrooms were clean. You are supposed to bus your own table. But there are arrogant people that won't and then you have to look out for the birds.This is an excellent place, I'm hoping I just visited on a bad day. I will definitely give them another chance.
Did you see this fancy place while driving down the road towards Jamaica Beach and thought to yourself “Boy, that Turtle place looks nice!”? Well, let me tell you - don’t even bother. We went there to grab some seaside grub and spent over two hours waiting on a basic Shrimp Po Boy with fries and a beer (which cost over $20 for those two things), but when it arrived it was cold to the touch with the world’s worst onion rings. There were multiple families who entered after us and left before us that should have thrown a number of red flags for us. I guess we were just optimistic. When we asked about a refund we were told to call the next day. Again, don’t bother. There’s a Golden Corral a few miles down the road.Edit: I read a few reviews below and it is absolutely obvious they are fake. Some woman called the restaurant to verify a previous employee was disgruntled before exclaiming her undying satisfaction for everything? Okay, good one!
Pretty good! Beach-side bar with good seating and tasty coconut shrimp. The onion rings were fantastic too. Definitely order a bahama mama, they make it well. They have showers at the entrance for people coming in from the beach.The only reason I'm rating 4 stars instead of 5 is that the bathrooms are rundown. Clean, but rundown. One faucet was inoperative and the other one worked but was hanging on by a thread. They were almost out of soap and didn't refill it an hour after we asked. These are easy fixes.
Would give them 0 stars if I could. Google showed and local folks confirmed that this place closed at 10 pm tonight, 4/15/22. So after seeing this, my friend and I arrived about 8:50 pm. There was about 20 customers sitting around waiting for food or already eating. I walked up to the counter and before I could say a word she said we are closing in 4 minutes. I thought, no one else is leaving & other's are still getting there food. My friend asked them if we can place an order and she said no. She was rude and no one else offered to assist us. I guess my money was not green enough for them
