The space and the service was great! But the prices were super high for the quality and amount. Margarita was too weak and the sea-food nachos was mostly only nachos… and not very good ones. Obviously very economical with the toppings. Can’t recommend this place.

We were a bit skeptical based on the 3.5 star reviews on TripAdvisor and Yelp but decided to give Sandbar a try for the Marina setting and proximity to where we were staying in Jamaica Beach. Our waitress was great, the drinks were great (La Diabla and Strawberry marg), the food was great (peel and eat shrimp with some good Cajun seasoning, fish and chips with light batter and coconut shrimp), and great outdoor seating with a view of the sunset. Don’t understand the bad reviews. Our waitress couldn’t have been sweeter, bringing a bowl of iced water for our Chihuahua. Granted, the prices were a bit high but you’re paying for the ambience and quality of food here. We did notice that smoking was allowed but fortunately no one was smoking near our table, otherwise, we would not have been able to enjoy our meal and this review would have been quite different. We’ll take our chances and come back here the next time we stay on the West End.
We had a nice dinner with the at the West End Martina in early May of 2022. As the downstairs eating area was closed (make sure to check their timetable) we were up on a balcony on the second floor enjoying the ambiance of marina life with some light country tunes from the bar. The waiter was real pleasant and easy to chat with. Beer selection is great - make sure to try Tiki Wheat - a great local Galveston beer. As for food - I did not have high expectations and was not surprised that the food was not anything to write home about (I had a burger). But as I said, the ambiance here matters and we definitely had a fun night here.
We were in town for a fishing trip on a Tuesday, had a large group and they were able to serve us. Service was fast and quality. We had many appetizers, pickles/civeche/chips&salsa all good. All meals were said to be good. The beans and rice of the fish tacos was amazing.Drinks were quality, the spicy mango margarita was very good.
Absolutely love this place. Great food and great wait staff. Brought my service dog a bowl of cool water before we even got waited on. Felt so welcome with my dog.

My mom's bisque was cold but they took care of that, friend liked her gumbo, hood fried pickles. I thought it was my best shrimp plate of the week, the others enjoyed fish tacos. Seever was a super nice guy and we enjoyed the water view.
Had brunch there last weekend. Great service and tasty food for sure. The brunch menu is good as is the regular menu. Lots of good options and love eating under the palapas. Outside without being outside!
I’ve eaten there three times this past month. Food was delicious and the wait staff has been great. Can’t wait to come back next year!
