The atmosphere is nice with a good view of the marina. The staff is friendly and inviting and makes sure you are taken care of. The food and drinks are not on the same level as the service. The food was good but not for the price. Fish tacos with store bought tortillas for $21? The drinks were good but mostly ice and light on the alcohol. The picture included was the ice left and had even melted some. If it was half the price then it wouldn't be so bad but for the price, I would go somewhere else.
Great experience this evening. Delicious drinks, nice and cold. Seafood Nachos are excellent and really enough as a meal for 2. We also ordered fish tacos that were delicious. Brought food home that we will enjoy tomorrow. Great service too! A++
Awesome experience!Highly recommended, if in area with dogs.Meal was Top Notch and more then plenty. The 4 pawed kids ate some of both plates and had a water to share, refilled even.Nobody on staff batted an eye, when we walked in with two Dogs on leases.
Took my family of 15, 9 adults & 6 kiddos under 12. Our waiter Clark was wonderful with the kids, had crayons & kid menus out for them, Clark's wife served the adults some wonderful mixed drinks & beers. Excellent food & service. We will be back.
Avoid this place at all costs if you want to eat. Priced way to high and the individual who acts as a hostess before you walk in is a rude, angry lady.Been at sea isle for a long time but this was our first time back in 2 years and it will definitely be the last. A lot has changed including the people. The outdoor bar is the only thing that deserves a star. Do yourself a favor and cook food at your place. You will save a lot money for fair food and won’t have to put up with terrible service. Theres a difference between island time and just not caring anymore. Point being, don’t go here unless it’s for 1-2 drinks at the actual bar.
This restaurant was recommended to us on vacation! We loved the atmosphere! The staff was kind, our waiters were friendly and great to our kids!! Food was great! Thanks for the recommendation Marc and Tammy Hollander!! Would visit again!
We were a bit skeptical based on the 3.5 star reviews on TripAdvisor and Yelp but decided to give Sandbar a try for the Marina setting and proximity to where we were staying in Jamaica Beach. Our waitress was great, the drinks were great (La Diabla and Strawberry marg), the food was great (peel and eat shrimp with some good Cajun seasoning, fish and chips with light batter and coconut shrimp), and great outdoor seating with a view of the sunset. Don’t understand the bad reviews. Our waitress couldn’t have been sweeter, bringing a bowl of iced water for our Chihuahua. Granted, the prices were a bit high but you’re paying for the ambience and quality of food here. We did notice that smoking was allowed but fortunately no one was smoking near our table, otherwise, we would not have been able to enjoy our meal and this review would have been quite different. We’ll take our chances and come back here the next time we stay on the West End.
Looking for a patio by the water to enjoy food, drinks and Astros baseball? Look no further! This 2-story restaurant is nestled in the beautiful Sea Isle subdivision just passed Jamaica Beach in the West End of Galveston. The restaurant is in a marina right off the bay. You can drive your boat up to the restaurant or park in the subdivision parking area. This spacious restaurant has an area to get some sunshine, or if you prefer the shade, you can sit under an umbrella or completely be shaded under the full covered seating area. There are fans for cooling off in hot weather. I've been to this establishment even in a rainstorm and it was still a good time. The service was wonderful. Hanna was our waitress. She made recommendations and was able to answer questions. The drinks and food were well presented and delicious! I had a Ranch Water - yum - and he had a margarita. Both very good. We started our meal with the "Shrimp Kisses" appetizer. Bacon wrapped shrimp with a light buffalo sauce glaze. 4 to an order placed on a bed of rice. The bacon was crisp, and the item stayed together through all my bites. Probably the best bacon wrapped shrimp I have ever had! For my entree, I ordered the blacken chicken sandwich. He had the fish (flounder) tacos. Both were prepared nicely and very tasty! We finished our drinks and watched a little of the Astros game on the big screen projection type TV. Smaller TVs are all around the bar for viewing. The energy was relaxed, and the day couldn't have been better spent! Sandbar is a dog friendly place. They even have water bowls for your pooch, if needed. Next to the restaurant is a convenient store with beer products, cokes and anything else you may need on the spot.$100.56 (without tip) for 2 adults to dine.I have visited Sandbar 4 times now and no matter the weather, I have always enjoyed it. This place has a good thing going, for sure! Highly recommend!! Maybe we'll see you on our next visit.
My mom's bisque was cold but they took care of that, friend liked her gumbo, hood fried pickles. I thought it was my best shrimp plate of the week, the others enjoyed fish tacos. Seever was a super nice guy and we enjoyed the water view.
