It was the best restaurant for me during my trip to Galveston Beach.Especially, I liked Lemon Butter pasta perfectly. The pizza was really big and the cheese was so delicious. The child also ate deliciously. The staff were very friendly. There was Gelato in the store, but I want to try it next time I visit there.
Always excellent. Sunday Brunch or Saturday Pizza! Mario’s is an Island Staple, food is wonderful, always good service. Try the Key Lime Pie ?
This has been our favorite Galveston restaurant for 15 years, but the welcome and service have gone down drastically. We came early on a Friday night and the senior hostess was not courteous at all, making us feel as if we were inconveniencing her by coming. The younger hostess looked at us apologetically, as if acknowledging the slight. We had to wait to be seated due to multiple “reservations,” but those tables remained empty our entire meal. The male server was wholly inattentive, and when we asked for one thing, he actually said, “I have other tables.” Why do restaurants forget that quality of service is almost as important as quality of the food? Tipped $100 on a $290 bill anyway because the food was divine. Tried to make a reservation Saturday for anytime Sunday brunch, but were told they were “completely full.” Tried to come Sunday anyway at 10:55 am to see if we could be seated at the bar or at separate tables, and while senior crabby hostess said yes at first, 5 minutes later she said we’d have to come back in 2 1/2 hours. Restaurant was completely empty but for 3 other small families also waiting to be served. We are not difficult customers, and are great tippers. Please, please work on your customer service, and/or have a floor manager/supervisor with strong people skills.
Service very slow. Promised to bring bread to deal with slow service and that didn’t show up either.
The Italian Nachos are fantastic. Our dinner was just as good. Moderately priced and great tasting food.
We went here last night. We waited 45 minutes for dinner. But, the outdoor waiting area is beautiful and with the sea breeze it wasn't bad at all, we even have three kids, and didnt mind the wait. The food is expensive, but delicious. Most of us had virgin daiquiris, and they were great. My daughters HATE seafood, and none of the food had a seafood smell/taste. They had food that even my vegetarian daughter who hates vegetables would eat: she got a cheese pizza. My other daughter got pasta in butter sauce. The adults were able to eat seafood pasta, and it was AMAZING. The kids meals all come with a scoop of Gelato, and they let you try the flavors on little spoons like an ice cream shop. It's a good place for photos, the top of the building looks like the leaning tower of piza, and there is a cool turtle fountain.
The exterior of the restaurant is attractive. Very warm and welcoming. Menu has amazing choices. I had the Viva Galveston with Shrimp Scampi, Shrimp Parmesan, and Fetticini Alfredo. My mom had redfish. Our meals were delicious. Our waiter, Arnold, helped guide us to the best dishes with his expertise. He always came by just at the right time, he never hovered. Arnold didn't make us feel rushed or never made us wait for anything. Arnold suggested I try the Italian cream cake for dessert, and it was light and delicious. If you want the best experience, ask for Arnold.
Wonderful food! Beautiful view while eating! A great place to dine in a group or alone. Great lunch buffet Monday thru Friday 11a - 3pm.
We eat here every time we go to Galveston. The food is awesome and the presentation is really nice. Ver nice ambiance and good service. Love the grouper in angel hair pasta and the fettuccini alfredo. My son had the lasagna. The calamari was perfectly tender! Sooo good!
The food is amazing! We are visiting Galveston from out of town and we were hungry for something different than seafood. We almost made the mistake of choosing a another restaurant. Thank goodness we decided on Mario’s! We ordered a White Pizza for my granddaughter and it was delicious and we ordered Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo for my husband and me and it was heavenly! There was so much chicken in it and the Alfredo sauce was so creamy! We also ordered a Caesar salad and the dressing was so good!! I will say that if you order your meal to go, ask for extra Caesar Dressing because it wasn’t quite enough for the large salad. We all had huge plates and we have enough leftover for an entire meal tomorrow as well. It was an excellent dinner and we will definitely eat there again when we are back in Galveston!
