I don't know if it's because of the July 4th, but just now there were only 15 customers. We walked up and seated ourselves I used the restroom and returned to my seat. After watching the server finish up his table. He looked over at us and proceeded to ignore us and clean up the empty table. Once he's done he went behind the bar and pulled out his phone and looked up at us and dropped his head. Maybe I'm wrong but we should do better at screening the staff before entering them into working with different races. Clearly he has issues with the darker color. But not everyone is focused on Color. We come to far to still dill with this in public restaurants.
Ambiance is great. Service is…they’re trying their best. Don’t be in a hurry. Relax. You’ll get served eventually. If you’re on a schedule - I wouldn’t recommend it. If you’re on vacation, belly up the bar and have a drink and soak in the island life.
Food was great, drinks were strong and the service was good. Only issue is the google posting makes it seem like the pool is open to the public. You have to be a guest at the doubletree hotel to access the pool. No fault of the restaurant but important to know.
The best thing going for it is the outdoor setting and view. I ordered the burger, it was a standard frozen patty on a basic bun. The fries were fine. The tres leches cake was served FROZEN. ?. Drink options were basic.
Super over priced drinks! My hubs and I both ordered a vodka drink and literally is was straight 7up for over $8 a drink. I suggest you go to The Spot where the atmosphere is even better and drinks are only $4 and taste like a real drink! Common bartenders…really!!
We stopped in for drinks while walking the beach. Good service not terribly overpriced drinks. Great place to sit and enjoy the ocean and people watching.
Such a great atmosphere. The servers were are some, friendly and fun. The drinks were really good. Loved we could get margaritas to go. Our food order took a very long time, however the service we received made-up for that
We decided to try his place yesterday as our go to was not open. What a disappointment! I am a lover of chips n guacamole/salsa so we ordered the chip trio. Well, the “chips” were not corn but flour tortillas deep fried so literally soaked in oil, crumbling and unable to be used a “dip chip”. The salsa and guacamole were served in individual condiment containers (1 for guac, 2 for salsa) and the queso didn’t even arrive until my daughters meal was served! I threw it away after trying to eat a few chips but they were just awful (oily and crumbling) And this for $10! I under We’re at the beach but have some pride in your food! Do not send something like this out to a paying customer! My daughter did say that her chicken tenders and fries were good so I guess that’s something. It’s really a shame though as we are always looking for a good snack shack as we don’t live far from the island and visit frequently. The manager should be ashamed of the kitchen as the server and bartender both apologized and said “we have problems in the kitchen” but no one tried to make it right. So I threw money in the trash! Never again! I guess it’s probably an ok place for a drink as it is a bar, but the food comes from the hotel restaurant so I expected more.
My wife and I are staying at the hotel and I came down for a beer. The manager and both people that were working behind the bar were extremely helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to take care of me. I will come back every time I visit Galveston.
highly recommend ... staff was friendly n informative of the pier area. Drinks never stopped coming and stayed full
