We've eaten here 3 times and will keep coming back. This last time we got the Swamped Fried Alligator, Jacked-Up Jalapenos and the Bourbon Street Platter. The couple that was with us also got the Bourbon Street Platter. The green beans were awesome! Never thought I would say that about green beans. We split the two platters and the appetizers. We also got several kinds of drinks. The Summer Peach Tea cocktail was everyone's favorite. We were so full we could not do desert. With a $10 tip our share was $50. If we had not done the drinks it would have been easy to only spend $30 and been full.
We had a great experience there. The food was really good and our server was super friendly. My 3 year old loved that they had crayons and a coloring sheet.
What amazing food. The atmosphere was relaxed and there are interesting things to look at. The empanadas were an interesting mix of culture (definitely worth trying!) The fried alligator was some of the best I've ever had. The gumbo was "okay", I probably wouldn't get it again. The beignets were so light and sweet, the perfect ending to a great meal.
We went into Little Daddy's on a whim after a long day, and were actually wanting dinner somewhere near Hey Mikey's ice cream shop. Little did we know that we were about to have one of the really great meals of our trip. I started off with some crab stuffed fried jalapenos, six raw oysters with some absolutely perfect stout horseradish, and then some char-grilled oysters. I had the Bourbon Street platter which included their gumbo, jambalaya, shrimp etoufee, and green beans. All were excellent, but I fell in love with their etoufee. My wife had the coconut shrimp platter and enjoyed every bite. Our waiter Dmitri was attentive and helpful throughout the entire dining experience. We would very happily go back!
I grew up eating gumbo, but this was by far the best gumbo I've ever eaten in 63 yrs! Delicious. Great atmosphere and wonderful waitstaff! ❤️
We were craving some Cajun food and stopped by for an early lunch. Some outside but mostly inside seating but since it was already hot in the shade we had to go inside and cool down. We were quickly seated and met with an outgoing server who was very helpful and provided good service during our meal. Lots of Cajun choices including alligator, gumbo, pho-boys, beignets, etc. The seafood gumbo was huge and filled with shrimp, andouille sausage, okra and more. Jambalaya was more than all of us to finish with lots of rice, shrimp, sausage, chicken and nicely seasoned and tasty. The baked oysters were huge (the theme for servings here) and filling. The beignets were crispy and covered in powered sugar sweetness. Light and so delicious. Will come back again.
My husband has been wanting to try soft shell crab, he said it was the best thing has had in a long time. I had the bourbon platter it had the best combo rice and sausage was great with it, the bacon wrapped shrimp was awesome. All the staff were very friendly. when we get back from our cruise i hope to stop by again, i highly recommend!
Given the reviews, my wife and I had great expectations for this restaurant. Alas, we were disappointed. The seafood gumbo sort of looked like gumbo, but it didn’t taste like gumbo—at least the gumbo we’re used to. A can of Blue Runner seafood gumbo base to which you add seafood is much much better. The grilled seafood platter was okay, but a bit over-salted. The seafood was served on a bed of crinkle cut fries. Maybe okay for fried seafood, but not grilled, which made the fries mushy. Would we go back there again? No, not before trying other Galveston establishments. Two neutral thumbs—neither up or down.
Fun place to stop for lunch. In the Strand Historic area which is fun to walk around also. Ordered and shared the alligator with fried pickles, fried okra and shrimp platter. All exceptionally delicious and filling. Super nice staff.
First time here. Had the shrimp feast and a bowl of seafood gumbo. They were both very good. The shrimp were great, seasoned just right!!
