Places like this are why its worth skipping the big restaurant chains. Fast and friendly service, and the food is just as good as you could imagine. My kids loved it - which is saying something for cajun food. Definitely don't skip the desserts either. The bread pudding is fabulous. This will be my first stop anytime I come to Galveston.
Great service, authentic barbecue with the smoker in the back. We knew this place was special when we were warmly greeted by the amiable lady behind the counter. She described the offerings to us and allowed us to sample. Everything we tasted was so delicious I over ordered and enjoyed every bite. Brisket was perfectly smoked; tender and delicious. Their crawfish over rice was the best I had ever tasted. Oh the homemade Southern desserts; Bread pudding sweet and smooth, carrot cake, scrumptious! I look forward to visiting again to taste even more food

This place has delicious food and large portions. At first I thought the price was a little expensive...it ain't...not for what you get; a large amount of food, some of the best tasting chicken I ever ate. Great potato salad.It's a simple-type restaurant where you go up front to order. The decor is dated but charming.Whoever is back in that kitchen has my eternal thanks. This is a skilled chef who obviously has been doing this for a long time. Go to this restaurant. No debate.

I was referred to this place from a FB friend. Wow I’m glad I tried it! It’s the REAL DEAL! It’s a small place and they have a meat cooler off to the side just the way stores back in the day had them in SW, La. And best of all they don’t put BAYLEAVES in their gumbo! ( stop doing that!) And their gumbo tastes like ya Ma-Maw made it! Their meats are fresh and taste soooooo good! Boudin is off the chain! Andouille and Tasso! And the bonus is, the people there are always so nice! Thanks Leo!
This place is a traditional family stop for any visit to Galveston. The sausage sandwiches with amazing sauce, Boudain Balls and the world's best jerky.....this is a must stop visit.
The food is amazing! Got the catfish and shrimp with rice and sausage and potatoes and sausage… It’s all amazing! The service test awesome, everybody is so nice and accommodating most definitely will be back… This is a stop you must make while in Galveston!!!
My second time here and it's still delicious! I ordered the riblets with a side of jambalaya. My boyfriend ordered the sausage plate. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. You should try it!
