Went to this little hidden gem during the Lone Star Rally. It was nice and staff was very nice. They had a large menu selection. The portion size is nice but the tea wasn't good flavor. The restroom was weirdly put together. Other than that the restaurant I recommend.
So far La Mixteca was our best meal in Galveston!
One of the best burrito places on the island I highly recommend trying them if you haven't already. Service was great I will be returning

Off the worn path away from the overpriced, overhyped and overcrowded tourists hotspots. Great food each visit, love their salsa as well. I wish this location was opened for dinner is possibly my only complaint!

Cozy little restaurant near the sea. It is a bit hidden but well worth the search. This is not a tourist spot but a restaurant for locals! When I walked in, I immediately noticed the tacky decorations and thought "oh no, this is a texmex wanna be restaurant. The food is going to be a disaster!" However, the experience was completely different. The hostess greeted us kindly and seated our group of 5. The waitress gave us complimentary chips and salsa which were warm and flavorful. The tables were a little wobbly but that was okay. I ordered 2 egg potato and bean burritos and a side of rice and beans thinking that they would be your typical small unfilling corn tortilla burritos. I WAS WRONG. The food was GREAT!! I couldnt even finish the flour tortilla burritos due to the size. The hostess kindly gave me a to go box. The rest of my group agreed that the food was very satisfying. We were only charged $60 for everything which is a fair price. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to any one looking for a satisfying mexican breakfast without the huge lines of tourists. The site is more or less 5 minutes away from the beach.
