Very eclectic vibe here along with friendly service and delicious choices. So many options here . The decor is funky. The food items have some funny names. Loved the Faerie sandwich and veggie quesadilla we tried. Tea is decent but could be stronger. We will be back. Our cousin found a nice Vegan dish to enjoy.
This place came highly recommend by the owner of the RV resort we were staying at. My wife and I agree that this was one of the best meals we have had in Galveston. The service was excellent, the staff was helpful and very pleasant as were the owners. The place is a family owned and operated business and all food is made from scratch and from their own recipes. The prices were very modest and did not reflect in any way the superior quality of food and service. We paid half as much as we did at other restaurants on the island. We also thought the decor and music was very pleasant. The old school arcades gave everything a very nice touch.I highly recommend this place if you are in Galveston and want a good quality meal at an excellent price. This will absolutely be on our list of to go places.
A great place with a variety of foods. Good American comfort foods. I had some loaded fries with chilli, diced tomatoes, halapenios, and avocado.it was delicious. Has a great atmosphere. Lots of paintings, artwork, pictures and lights on the walls. A smaller section with live music and a bar I think. Overall recommend to check this place out.
This was a cool little place! Plenty of food options. Friendly staff. Yummy pizza! They have live entertainment in the evenings!
After coming back from Jamaica Beach; Me, My Girl, & her daughter stopped here just because we were in the mood for food. I ordered the grilled fish tacos. I'm always in the mood to find a "to die for" fish taco. They were good, but not to die for. In all honesty, I didn't even know this place was featured on the Texas Bucket List until just now writing this review. I like this place a lil bit more just because of that. If I ever come back, I'll have to try they're pizza; looks delicious. ?
Fun atmosphere! Friendly, helpful, and prompt service. Great variety of menu items, something for everyone and that can be a real challenge theses. There were plenty of parking spaces.
Looking for a place to dine in Galveston presents lots of opportunities, as one would expect on an island known for its tourism. The choices are many but finding the right one when you have vegetarians and vegans in your ranks can be a challenge. One place that satisfied us all is Gypsy Joynt Café in Galveston. Gypsy Joynt Café features a counter- ordering system and seat yourself procedure. The menus are right there, as you enter. You grab one, place an order at the counter and pay, then take a number back to your seat. They will bring your food to the table when it’s ready. The atmosphere at Gypsy Joynt Café is fun and not like most others. There are pictures on the walls, flags, dream catchers, peace symbols, and other objects hanging from the ceiling, and even video games and pinball machines. You may find yourself looking around more than usual at this restaurant, as there is so much visual appeal. With the food, they have several veggie sandwiches and if you order a burger, you can select a plant- based patty if you prefer. The sandwiches are large in size and the side options are plentiful, too. I ordered a brisket sandwich with a side of tator tots and I left feeling quite full. The soft drinks are self- serve so you can go back and get more if you like. I liked the food and love the atmosphere at Gypsy Joynt Café. My only issue is the amount of time it took to get served our food. I checked the time and it took around 40 minutes before it was delivered to our table. Maybe they were short staffed at that time? I’m not sure, but it took longer than it should have. I love making trips to Galveston and I love the different dining options the island offers. Gypsy Joynt Café is a groovy place that deserves a look. Whether you have vegetarians/vegans with you or not, it’s a cool restaurant with an atmosphere you won’t forget.
We've been on the road for a few weeks and have become jaded by restaurant ratings on Tripadvisor and other sites. We went on a tip from a Houston based site. Most creative and tasty restaurant we have tried yet this trip. Great and warm service. First time I haven't minded paying $15 for a pandemic burger (Ziggy's, but the PMS and blue ball and the Yo Adrian looked great as well). My wife's and son's meals were top notch too. Save room for dessert because this place is also a killer bakery. would have eaten all of our meals there if it hadn't been the last day.
I love the food and the family. I've happily covered their food from Galveston Foodies here on Facebook and GalvestonLifestyle on Instagram for years. Such a fun eclectic menu! Eva's baked goods totally rock and Merry's sauces are fantastic. HIGHLY recommended!
we absolutely love this place. delicious food great staff, awesome atmosphere.
