The service and food did not live up to their reputation. The only one out of my party of five to truely enjoy their dinner was my mother. She had the crab cake and the seafood pasta. The rest of us found the food to be way to salty.
Service was good Food was fresh and good.
Food and cocktails were of good quality. However, not commiserate with the cost. Additionally, the service was not good. Our server was not helpful, not attentive and not informative, at all. Our party of four had to continuously ask secondary and tertiary questions to try and pull information from her. Like the meal itself, if you are going to pay $350 for a meal like we did, you do desire the quality of service and of the food itself to be at that level. Unfortunately, both fell well short. Obviously, I am happy to pay a premium for food and service, or we would not have gone to Gaidos. However, our entire party rated this as our lowest in the last week in Galveston, and this was more than twice as expensive.
We loved our evening at Gaidos.
We have come here for several generations and enjoyed meals and the specialness of Gaidos each & every time. Always manners & etiquette from well trained servers with well prepared and plated delicious foods. Variety filled menu & desserts & beverages!!!! Just all around a 5-star still after 50+ years of dining here. Thank you all!!
Overall itâs was great! Iâd say just a bit pricey but you do get an ocean view and Galveston is a tourist location. Weâll certainly go again.
Evan our server was great!!
We have eaten at Gaido's for over 40 years. The food is not anywhere near the quality it was "back in the day". We still try it every year or two, and occasionally we will have a a great meal. The old waiters were amazing as was the food.
The food was excellent and served at the right temperature. Our Waiter was outstanding and knowledgeable of all the features.
Excellent! The red snapper was delicious! And the blue cheese grits are a must!
