Best Birria tacos around! Only served Thursday- Saturday, but we'll worth the wait. The inside is super cute and festive. Friendly staff and host. 10/10 recommend anyone who visits Galveston to stop in.
First off the cafe de Olla is superb! Came here during lunch. Probably wasn't the best thing to do since I had a project I was in the middle of. But if you got time to enjoy a nice lunch and have the time to wait for great food, this is the place. The food isn't rushed, but it's excellent. I will definitely be back.
Service here is great! We were greeted immediately and our server came by several times to make sure we had what we wanted. We were given chips and 3 different kinds of salsa. I enjoyed sampling each kind. I ordered alambre with a side of rice. We also had guacamole and churro beans. The alambre was very good. The portion was large enough that I could have shared it.
First time customer. The place is colorfully decorated and clean. We were seated quickly. The wait staff (Erica) was quick to greet us and take drink orders. The menu is not overcrowded, so it was pretty easy to decide on what to order. Portions are large and pretty tasty. Overall, we liked it quite a bit. We will definitely give it another try and maybe even for breakfast as they open at 7am, so it's nice to have one more option. Highly recommended.
There could be a little more welcome and direction for customer seating. The waitress was nice and attentive. The food was Authenticly delicious everything we tried was awesome. The cafe de olla served in a ceramic mug taste like a soleful cinnamon tea thats from generations of old Latin roots. All the food possesses a sense of tradition and heritage. Everything is fresh and exceptional! I will be back! Great place for locals or visitors to get a great breakfast.

The food here is probably the most authentic Mexican on the island, probably the best as well. The family that owns it are very friendly. The chips and salsa are unique on the island and really authentic. I was surprised the steak I ordered was absolutely tender and delicious. It’s not really texmex it’s better.

You want authentic Mexican food? Look no further because this place is the best I've had over here in Galveston! I wish it was near my house because this food is amazing. I walked in and immediately knew this place was going to be amazing! It smells just like my Grandma's kitchen when I was little!They are also very kind and fast! Ordered our food for two and they had it out in under 20 minutes. And honestly, I wouldn't care if it took an hour to come out because this food is worth it! Definitely a must try if you're in Galveston.
If I could give this place 6 stars I would!!!We are from San Antonio and we eat a lot of Mexican for breakfast and this is the best by far! This place checks all the boxes, ambience, flavor, quality, service and then some. Go check it out. You will not be disappointed!
