This was by far the WORST dining experience I've ever had. We went on June 4 for my daughter's 30th birthday. We waited over an hour outside, which was expected. However, we got a terrible waiter who forgot some of our drinks, didn't bring silverware, and rarely checked on our table. After waiting there at the table for over an hour and a half while other tables came after us and got food, we finally got our food (but only having to get two managers involved- Rickie and Jose). Some of the food was tolerable, but I ordered the Lt Dan Surf and Turf with ribs and grilled shrimp. The manager (Rickie) told me to watch because the plate was hot, but it turns out it was only hot on one side like it had been microwaved while the grilled shrimp were cold. Plus, the ribs tasted freezer burned. They got some of the other orders wrong, which was really unacceptable after waiting for almost two hours just to get our food. Rickie told me she would have the general manager contact me the following day, but of course, that didn't happen. She was apologetic; however, it really ruined what should have been a wonderful birthday celebration. If the food would've been good after the long wait or if the waiter would've acted like he cared, we wouldn't have been quite so upset. We were told by Rickie that he only had ONE table while we were there. I don't know where he was, but he sure wasn't at our table. Do yourselves a favor- go across the street to Fish Tales where the food is wonderful and so is the service. That's where we tried to go initially and the only reason we didn't stay there is because Bubba Gump's stayed open later. BIG MISTAKE on our part!
Food is decent. But Pretty commercialized. Similar to Razoos, if you’ve ever eaten there. Atmosphere is fun and Forest Gump themed. Our waiter was clearly new and it wouldn’t be fair to rate his service. Over all it was a good experience and I say, try it once if visiting Galveston. I had the crab stuffed shrimp which was good I recommend it. My husband had the Jambalaya, which He said tasted pretty good but should come with bread.
Friday evening, should've been jumping, it wasn't that was our warning. Sat at our table over 15min waiting to place drink order. I had to call over a server to ask for drinks she says " I GUESS ILL SERVE YOU"!!! LIKE WHAT? Food service was quick, but I expected shrimp to be better than grocery store frozen dinner quality, I mean Shrimp is in the title, so how can they get away with this. I don't recommend, and I won't return. I'll be going to places the locals recommend.
My daughter and I stopped for dinner last night while we were out walking on pleasure Pier. It was a Saturday night and most places had a wait, Bubba Gump sat us right away on the patio overlooking the beach with a warning that it was very windy and that we could not change our minds and go inside. We were fine with that.I ordered boiled shrimp to start, it was pretty tasty. For dinner I ordered the surf and turf and requested substituting mashed potatoes for a salad. The steak came out and was still very red inside and bloody but also burnt. The steak was a very thin piece of meat, not a very good cut. Came with the mashed potatoes, the server realized that and went to get the salad. The shrimp it came with had a good taste and I ate those but the steak was not even worth saving. I used to work in the restaurant industry many moons ago and know what happens when you send a meal back to get cooked, definitely wasn't going to try my odds there. The servers English wasn't the best so communicating was a tad difficult. He did send the manager over who is very friendly and offered to remake the meal, which I declined. With the appetizer and the shrimp and salad I was full so he credited the bill. The restaurant was dirty, there was bits all over the floor and dishes stacked up here and there, that was a bit off-putting.I have been to the restaurant before and had a decent experience then, more than anything this restaurant is a tourist attraction and has a great location on the beach and Pier.⭐⭐
The service was great. Waiting for the food took a bit long. It was a little busy but no wait to be seated. Which was awesome. The food was ok. I was expecting all this flavor & nothing like that at all. I was a bit disappointed. The fries have this seasoning which I didn't like. Great place to try at least once!
We went on a Saturday night so it was extremely busy! The employees were kind and great to work with, but there wasn't a lot of seating so it took a while to get our food and wait. There was no space for eating inside. The food was great and we had no issues with it, just a very long wait.
The food was very good. Once seated the service was fairly fast.
It was great! After a morning at Pleasure Pier it was the perfect lunch. Great service and staff!
We went here after an evening at Galveston Island’s Pleasure Pier, as it is right there. We have not dined at Bubba Gino’s previously. It was very good food, but drinks were expensive.
The staff was very tentative and fast! The gumbo was delicious as well! Overall a great experience!
