Discovered this neighborhood gem recently for casual dining and loved it! No more Pei Wei for us. Why?1. Delicious food with quick & friendly service.2. Reasonable prices.3. Free egg roll for every customer.4. Nice decor, loved that silk tapestry.5. Oh, and that cute delivery robot :)
Tried this place out for takeout at the recommendation of a friend. If I compare Zhao to the other Chinese takeout spots in Frisco, I would say they’re one of the best. Fresh food, good flavors, not mind-blowing but definitely a good place to buy from again and again.Spring rolls were not as crispy as I like but tasty.Egg drop soup was pretty good, but a little on the bland side.Orange chicken was excellent. Lightly breaded and fried. Deep, flavorful sauce. Spicy was 1/5, not as hot as we expected. Probably one of the best orange chickens in Frisco!Chicken lo mein: light, not greasy like most places, but a little heavy on the black pepper flavor.Overall the orange chicken was the best dish.This place is definitely worth a try if you commute by or live near it!
Very nice and clean location with the friendliest people in town. Delicious food every single time I've visited. Wonderful balance of flavors and the cuisine is also plated well so its appealing to both the eyes and the taste buds.
This place is BEYOND delicious. I’m very picky about Chinese food, and the food exceeds my expectations…every time. The owner is lovely and works very hard to ensure that every plate is perfect. I recommend Zhao Star to everyone that I know, and they always tell me that they loved the food here. It’s a hidden gem and I’m so glad we found it, as it’s my family’s favorite restaurant.
Dined-in at this small but very comfortable Chinese restaurant gem. Service was attentive and quick and included tableside delivery by a robot "waiter". Don't worry though, a human followed quickly behind.Appetizers included Egg Drop soup, Zhao's Crazy Dumplings and Scallion Pancakes. All were outstanding. Dinner included Chicken Egg Foo Young, Orange Peel Beef, and Zhao's Braised Duck. Food quality was excellent throughout.

This is a small intimate restaurant with a robot that brings you your food! The orange peel chicken was sooooo good!! The shrimp fried rice and sesame were my 2nd favorites. They give you an egg roll on the house. The fried dumplings were also good and they had good sauces.The service was great! My 2 complaints are the portion sizes are small and the lo mein was not cooked long enough and had a funny taste. I will definitely be back whenever I'm in the area, I just won't order the noodles again.

We ordered s1 and s5.Crispy chicken and lemon chicken.Pepper steak and walnut shrimp.We also got crab wonton and egg drop soup and sesame balls.Would get again: egg drop soup, pepper steak, crispy chicken and sesame balls.Wasn't busy tonight, service was good and quick.We will come back again. The food was good, and want to try the other items.
What a great experience! I am so picky about Chinese food but Zhao Star did not disappoint. The food is 100% authentic and fresh. The owner was the sweetest woman who went above and beyond to make sure all of the guests were taken care of and that the place was spotless and sanitized. I will definitely be coming back!
