I'd like to apologize because my previous review was about a different place and I got the places mixed. Again I apologize. However I'd like to highly recommend the Hot Pot. First of all, we ordered pan fried gyosa, (a bit small but very tasty) they came with 2 sauces that complemented each other very well. We also ordered the thai style hot pot, very satisfying! One dish was more than plenty for both (my wife and I).The restaurant is in 99 Ranch Market so you need to go inside the store but it'll add to the experience. I still would highly recommend the place ph them a visit
Let’s call this place my FAVORITE SPOT to eat, there’s a lot of restaurants that with time you get tired of eating the same things and same flavors, but that is not the case here, pop pot leaves me always very well satisfied with their #9(tofu pot) with instant Ramen, and a side of fried squid balls, it tastes so good every time; I eat it with their sweet soy sauce they have next to their register, and it’s just delicious, I’ve been there with my wife sometimes two/three times a week and it always hits the spot. Give them a chance, they are very nice and humble people , you can tell they love what they do. Eating a Hot Pot it’s always a great experience.
Overall it is alright. The stinky tofu isn’t stinky enough lol. There was no sauce for it.The hotpot is alright. $15 appro. For the house special pot. I love the roasted rice tea that they gave to us for a hot pot order.I ordered another tea, it costs $4.75 for a large size of plain sweetened tea. No boba or jelly added ??♀️The service is OK, not excellent.
The soup has the sweet taste like veggie broth, it’s pretty good. The rest is fine, it’s a little less for 1 person including the vermicelli.
Go there for a cold day, it will warm you up.It’s convenient, good price for hot pot, and with multiple choices of soup base.
The quality here just gets worse and worse. Their stinky tofu used to be delicious, but now the price has increased and amount of food decreased. All in all, it's $10 for 8 measly pieces of fried tofu (not large either- maybe a 1" cube), barely stinky at all, and fried so badly the exterior is hard and difficult to bite into. It comes with more pickled veggies than actual tofu, and truly the tiniest amount of sauce- the container is half the size of a regular to-go sauce container at 1/2 inch tall. And they charge you for extra sauce! The cashiers are without fail alway rude, and the wait time is atrocious- I got my noodles from the pho place next door in half the time. Highly recommend staying away from this place, it's practically a scam at this point!
Pop pot is a great restaurant with amazing flavors and nice staff! I come here very often and love the broth and ingredients they use, as well as the nice atmosphere.
Flavor is not bad. But a bit pricey. $20 for a bowl with fairly cheap ingredients. Probably 3.5 stars if I didn’t chew a big piece of plastic.
Are you ready for a personal serving of hot pot? Yay Boy you are!!! Tasty broth filled with goodies in its own little fire pot and no one else’s chop sticks ?
When I lived in California I used to go to this restaurant called Boiling Point in Garden Grove and this is basically the self serve version of it - I wish it was a restaurant mainly because at BP they refill your pot with broth if needed + can relight your flame if you want + you don’t have to carry a pot full of scalding hot broth to your table while avoiding rowdy kids in a food court. With that said this is still a great place and it’s a solid 4.5 for me. I disagree with another review saying this is enough food for 2 people - maybe the bigger pots (the ones that are around $20) if you’re both small people but the left side of the menu (around $16) is definitely just enough for 1 person.I got the #1 and you get a smorgasbord of ingredients (everything from quail eggs to fish cakes to a couple clams). One issue is that their spice levels don’t seem to represent anything, I got the level 5 spice (actually asked them to make it as spicy as they can) and my broth vs my friend’s level 2 didn’t seem to have any difference. Not a big deal because it was still great but there was no spice in either pot.I love how they have a raffle that you can enter after making a purchase and that they give you tea included with your meal (I thought it was just a lunchtime thing but we went during dinner).
