Norma Norma Norma... The cornbread was not sweet, but the texture is really good. Just needs a little less salt and more sweetness. The chicken fried chicken, I would not have given it an award. It also has too much salt on the breading. The apple pie was cold at first until asked to be warmed up. The apple slices were way too large and some were not cooked through and there definitely was not enough syrup in these. The bread rolls were really good though and the service is great. The quality of food needs to go up to attract returning customers.
I picked this place for breakfast because I love a diner vibe. The hostess and wait staff were great, but the food...freakin' fantastic! Chicken fried steak was great, excellent gravy, and the hash browns were on point. I do think the star of the show were the biscuits though...light, fluffy, and full of flavor! Can't wait to come back and try the lunch!
Met a friend here for lunch and I enjoyed it very much. I had a veggie plate, even though I wanted something fried, but I left feeling satisfied. Very nice service too.
My first time at this restaurant for breakfast and it was great. The hostess greeted me as soon as I came through the door. The server was polite and professional, I brought my laptop with me so I could do a little work, and she immediately gave me the wifi information. The food was very good. I highly recommend. Also, the manager saw me cross my arms, and he went to turn the heat up a little in the restaurant, and then apologized for the chill in the air. Now that's service! I will be back!
A friend and I have been going to Norma’s for years - it was one of our go-to lunch/dinner spots. This visit there were new menus which almost always means price increases - and boy did it ever! One of our favs was their grilled chicken salad, but we were very disappointed on this visit. The price went up and the quality went down - brown lettuce and way less toppings. We both had tea to drink and our bill was almost $20 each with tip. We will certainly be going elsewhere from now on. Sad it has come to this.
Great place to drop in and grab a bite to eat, plenty of items hanging around to keep you busy talking while you wait for the food to arrive. Food items are a little on the heavy side (southern type cooking) and the desert selection is awesome. Onion rings were superb until they cooled down, tasted weird and left a nasty after taste (could be the oil and/or batter used).
Good food at good prices. Not a fancy overpriced place, just a good neighborhood diner with very friendly staff. We didn't try the pie, but it looks good.
Great place! My son and I love the food and the French toast is top notch! A bunch of breakfast places have very long wait times now that so many people live here, this one has very little if not none so we come here often.
There are 5 locations for Norma's around Dallas, TX area. This Frisco, TX Norma's is in the upscale Centre at Preston Ridge shopping center.Large parking lot near the entrance.Norma's is a big place, bright colors, and lots of decor from the 1950's.Staff is pleasant & helpful. Many booths for 4, and big booths for 6, as well as tables, and a couple of counter seats.Prices are good, because servings are generous. Order anything you see on the giant menu, but try to read fast or you will never eat!ALL of the breakfasts are great. But i was due for a salad, and the Grilled Chicken Salad was a great choice! It is served on a plate (see my photo) and stacked so high, it was rolling off when I began to eat!Like a game of Jenga, but tasty.Norma, serve this in a bowl, please! We enjoyed our meals, got stuffed, took home leftovers. Waitress was fantastic, other staff even checked on us. Like the 1950's...Bring your appetite!
Decided to eat here on our way to the semi-final game. We arrived around 8 and the place wasn’t too busy. Our waitress had a habit of disappearing when we needed her. I got eggs with chicken fried steak. My wife got the migas. Overall the food was ok but I would look for a better place to eat breakfast.
