*chef's kiss* this place is so good. the food was delicious and service was great. so many items I wanted to try but I went with the shrimp cremor and it was amazing. I also had the calamari and bruschetta and both great. this is a place I will be returning to.
Our family of four, ages 21 and up ate here. I asked everyone to rate it, and the average was a 3.5 for the food. On the fence about whether to give a 3 or a 4, I’m going with a 3 due to service. Average service and average food. The bread was pretty good and my son really enjoyed the Stromboli. Marinara sauce lacked flavor, but noodles were cooked to the right texture.I took 2 bites out of my eggplant parmigiana (after ordering it extra crispy) and never took another. The second bite was to convince myself that it was really that bad, as it surprised me. My son asked to taste it and immediately started cutting me some of his food for me after he tasted it. I rarely don’t eat my meal, but this was one of those rare occasions.Bathrooms were clean as well as the restaurant.It pains my to leave a 3 star review, and maybe it was just a bad day for them. Please keep the other good reviews in mind before making decision.
How fortunate we are to have Gallo Nero close at hand! I've picked up large takeout orders twice now, and was thrilled with pizza, pasta and house bread. I'd love to dine in and enjoy the high-energy atmosphere, but the dining area is not large, and it was crowded even late, so I will have to pick an off-time. As their website claims, Gallo Nero is familiar food executed very well.
This place ruined lasagna for me. You cannot make a mozzarella cheese and ground beef casserole and call it lasagna. Absolutely disgusting. No flavor. No ricotta. Hardly any noodles just a giant brick of cheese and un seasoned ground beef. The rigatoni was greasy and under seasoned as well. I've had better pasta at pizza hut. Like seriously the worst meal I've had in a LONG time. Refund requested.
This place was an awesome find for us. We just moved into the area and were looking for a good local place. We found it! I saw some great reviews for Gallo Nero, and it was close, so we went to go try it. Food was fantastic, service was fast and friendly, and price was decent (prices are hard to judge as today's economy struggles the way it does). We've been back several times and everything I've tried has been awesome. Gallo Nero definitely has a loyal customer here
I ordered the chicken piccata, it was so good. Really nice portion (who doesn’t love good left overs). The chicken had such good flavor, and they weren’t shy with the sauce. The best chicken piccata I’ve had in a very long time! This did not disappoint.
First time ordering here after going by and the wait being an hour long. Reviews were great even for take out.But unfortunately super disappointed with the serious lack of flavor in our food.I love Italian, it’s hard for me to not like a pasta, even airport etc…but across the board this was very sub par food. Would assume there were no seasonings used for either of our pasta dishes. We had veal parmigiana $19 (how can you make bland fried food?) which we didn’t even eat it was so flavorless, spaghetti bolognese with mushroom, (no mushrooms were added), and again SO bland even after adding a ton of fresh pepper and salt.Caesar Salad was wilted, dressing was good thoughHappy to report the tiramisu had some flavor.2 stars because it was warm and had no contaminations issues.
Had food delivered and it was a gamble trying something new but it did not disappoint. Food is really well prepared and is yummy. Got calamari and it was light and cooked perfectly . Garlic bread was also very good.. so not hesitate to try. Way better than going to a chain like Olive Garden.
Great service & food!! Will definitely be back. Had the Vodka Chicken Pasta at lunch and it was amazing! I might ask them to go a little lighter on the sauce next time (personal preference)
Amazing food, great job back of the house! What a win having such incredible Italian food and service so close by. Tim, the owner, came by to check on us and ended up having a great conversation. Cameron our server was wonderful! We’ll be back!
