Missing the authentic south Indian taste. Tried idli, vada and filter coffee combo and Rava onion masala dosa. Vada was chewy and chutney felt diluted. Dosa was also not well cooked and the potato sabji with dosa was dry and tasteless. They charge extra for the chutney and sambar. For the cost it is not worth. At similar price point Saravana bhavan is much better than this. Service was good and restaurant is clean.
We went there all the way from Arlington last Sunday, had high expectations for South Indian breakfast.. they shared a menu chart without pricing. We ordered their combo meal, masala dosas.. have tried other restaurants with way better taste and flavors. Only thing I liked was the rava kesari from the combo meal. And we ended up getting a receipt of $43! Couldn’t understand their math! Highly recommend adding prices to the menu.
We loved this restaurant. The food was fresh and well prepared. I liked their condiments. The one item you shoul try is their King dosa. It was amazing. Big enough to feed family of 4. Kids loved it. It was big and crispy at the same time. Dont know how they managed to make it this big ?. The restaurant was clean and well managed. Will go again for sure.
I have been looking for one authentic restaurant that offers the exact tastes of the Indian cuisine that I grew up loving -finally found one! I wasn't expecting much when I went here cuz most Indian restaurants offer the same menu in the US and they are too bland. A2B offers a different style - menu based on the time of day (like: breakfast menu, lunch menu etc)! The food was tasty, the authentic tamil ambience (that particular day had an awesome collection of songs in their playlist), and in a moderate budget($$).Negatives: service is reaaaallllyyyy SLOW. I can understand that in these times functioning with full staff might be difficult. But still, the person who took our order got us the menu after 15 minutes, after deciding on the menu it took another 15 for them to note it down, 15 more for them to bring the food, and 30 for them to bring the check. If you have a lot of time and patience or want to hang out with family, this is the place.P.S. for me food was a bit too oily. Or maybe because it was a Poori that I had.But it tasted so YUM. I'd go there again.
This place is good if you want good south Indian food and are around in that area.I find the food is always fresh, and the staff is always courteous and ready to help if you want to make some modifications to your food order based on your likes and dislikes. If you are a vegetarian, this is a must-visit, and you can decide later based on your initial experience,Improvement: Keep the volume low for the music played; not everyone likes the music you play, and it's loud. It is not a BAR or a PUB – if you are trying to cater to that kind of crowd, the music level is fine, but I am sure that is not the case. Keeping it low will keep the overall noise level in the restaurant calmed down.Overall I have visited this place multiple times, and I have enjoyed it every single time. I recommend trying everything on their menu and asking the server if you need some level of spices before your order. The coffee is a must. I would say and is the perfect way to end your meal. If you like North Indian food, there are other better places I would suggest checking out in the area.
Delicious south Indian food, our new favorite spot. Clean and friendly staff. I tried special masala Dosa with Guntur masala, just too good if you love spicy. My son ordered chole bhatura; bhatura was huge and fluffy but the chole was half done and a very small quantity, he didn't like it.
Not sure how it got even 3.7 ratings. So we came to A2B all the way from Irving to experience authentic south India food. We have ordered one South Indian thali, North Indian thali, pani puri and baby corn Manchuria. So we would expect appetizers to come first but they brought Thalis. Surprisingly both thalis are almost same. Except for the chana masala curry. The food is not even warm which is the only thing that they has to do. Panipuri was a disaster you can smell sev like a expired one. The chili baby corn has more tomato ketchup than chilies. Not worth of our time to travel to this place and our Christmas Eve dinner was a total nightmare. Special mention, the sweet they give in thali is not cooked properly. I got raw rava in rava kesari. Never ever going back to this place
I love this place. The coffee is awesome, some the best I’ve had. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Typically this place is fairly busy and only 1 or 2 people serving. Despite that, the food is served timely and the staff don’t skip a beat. We come here frequently for the food but mostly for the friendly environment. Thanks for helping me learn and enjoy South Indian food and culture!
We have been to this restaurant multiple times in the past 2 years and always had consistently good service and quality food. Combos are excellent and coffee alone is enough for a return visit. They specialize in South Indian food, like idly, dosa, sambar, etc. so that’s what I would recommend ordering. The staff is the friendliest staff I’ve encountered at an Indian restaurant, and are helpful with menu questions! Thanks A2B for providing South Indian comfort food
Bad service and horrible thali. We were waiting at the entrance to be seated and no one attended us though only 3 tables were occupied. We ordered 3 thalis and got the first thali after 30 mins.we had to call them multiple times to get our second thali and third one came 10 mins later. To our surprise food is not even luke warm.Rice is dry and avial curry seems to be from the previous day. I am suprises that they did not even bother to warm the food before serving. We couldn't eat and left the food as is.
