If you are craving a delicious burger on a fresh baked, buttery bun, this is the spot in Friendswood. Couldn’t finish the massive thing. Fries were ok but not great. My kids got the curly fries and liked them. They liked their plates too - catfish and burgers. They definitely give you large portions here and I remember just about everything on the menu being fried so you won’t get much in the way of healthy options here unfortunately. But what they do have, albeit fried, is pretty darn good! The food was prepared quickly and the staff was friendly and helpful. It took us a minute at the order counter to figure out what we wanted as it was our first visit and they were patient with us while we browsed their rather large menu. I definitely recommend checking this place out!
There's nothing Cajun about the Cajun fish combo. No taste and the fish was really thin and undercooked almost raw. I've been here before and their burgers were good but I wouldn't order the fish again.
Food is so good!! The fish and shrimp with the London breading is so tasty, not over cooked or dry at all. Must try the funnel cake fries, heavenly! Have been back so many times. Finally tried a hamburger, really great too. All proportions are very generous. Management and service is excellent too! Don't pass this opportunity for a meal you will not regret!
Right next to Krogers with plenty of parking. Portions are huge. Onion rings are really good. Burgers are big and delicious. Nice addition to the neighborhood.
Good Burgers on fresh baked buns! Sides are also great - had fries, onion rings and tots. Fish & Chips London Style and the Pork Chop Sandwich were really good too!
Wings were good, nothing to special but the fries were delicious!! Definitely worth the stop. I will have to return to try the burger. 15$ for 10 wing combo
Updated Review: The restaurant reached out to me, regarding the burnt buns, and refunded both sandwiches. We'll give them another try and I'll update further.Original review: Hubby and I had wanted to try this place for a while, having read all the great reviews, but today's visit--our first visit-- was a tad disappointing.Caveat: Their food may be great if dining in, but we'd chosen to pick it up, since they do not offer beer. It's hard to beat a good burger and a beer! That being said, some of the food did not travel well.Hubby tried the cheeseburger and onion rings, while I'd chosen the avocado cheeseburger and curly fries. We'd read great things about their fresh buns, but sadly both of our sandwiches had burned buns (to the point that both had black rings on top of the bun). The onion rings and fries did not travel well, even though we only live minutes away. I thought the avocado burger might be awesome, had the bun not been burnt, which gave it this weird, greasy edge. Sadly, no amount of beer would have killed that burnt flavor. The place did look clean inside, and they only had 3 tables of customers, when I picked up the order, so maybe this was an off time.
I ordered a shrimp wrap without jalapeños, and split an order of onion rings with another person. This was takeout to eat at home. It was absolutely delicious! The onion rings were still warm and crispy, even after the car ride. These were the best onion rings I've had in a long time!! The wrap was filled with big, juicy shrimp, and the taste reminded me of a New Orleans shrimp poboy.Wow! Absolutely ? worth every penny.
Give this place a try! Excellent food and customer service. One piece fish (huge), London style was great. Grilled chicken sandwich was very tasty, plenty of chicken, included avacado, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mayo. Seasoned french fries hot and very good too.
The food is okay, I had the Cajun fish combo. The fish was quite thin, but again, okay. We enjoyed take-out burgers once. Today I dined alone and inside for the first time. I was greeted by an unsmiling dark haired young man who was manning the front counter. It was a Wednesday at 1:30 in the afternoon and the place was empty. After placing my order from a bulletin board, no menus, I paid for my meal. At this point he swiveled the monitor screen at me expecting me to select a tip. A tip? A tip for whom, and for what exactly? As he stared me down expectantly, I took a pointed look around at the self-service drink station and self-service condiments station, complete with plastic wrapped plastic ware and those tiny little paper napkins, and asked "Is this a full service restaurant?" to which he answered "Yes" with a straight face! It saddens me to live in such a quaint little town like Friendswood and have business owners feel it's okay to burden customers with such tactics. Trying to guilt customers into paying for services they don't receive is probably one reason why the place was empty at lunch time. Here's a concept PAY YOUR STAFF! Don't expect to gain a customer base as a new burger joint in the area if customers are expected to line the pockets of the front counter guy. Perhaps the owner/management should have a meal at Perry's Steakhouse, located here in Friendswood, to experience some semblance of full service. I won't be back.Edit after response from owner:A savvy business owner would have stopped after the first paragraph. Your response is argumentative and suggests you didn't read every word I wrote. I do not wish to, as previously stated, return to JLB Eatery. I'll stick with Pop Top Burger's. Your sarcasm implies that you have trouble finding your patience when trying to make ammends with customers. I do wonder; when you're seated at a true "full service" restaurant, do feel inclined to tip before having been served, or eaten anything? I know the answer to this question, so let's leave it there, shall we?
