Mixed thoughts. They were understaffed but worked hard. The food was good but not great. It was a good ways out of town but mostly full. Probably not on my must do list and need to try more places to know if I would recommend over others.

Such a great little find off 87 right before you get into Fredericksburg! I had the crab cake benedict and a bloody mary both were delicious. We went on a Sunday morning and there was already a line before they opened, but the service was great.

Food was good, but atmosphere could be really cool, except nobody has put any TLC into keeping it cool and quaint in a really long time. I could tell or use to be amazing…. The outside had path that I thought would lead to something beautiful but it was trashy. Disappointed in the overall experience.

Great food, great live music, friendly service. Very interesting decor.

The food is always fantastic. Our visit last week was no exception. Our group had items from both the regular menu and the nightly specials and all were delicious. The entertainment was really fun, too. It was too bad the waitress was so stressed out. It almost felt like an imposition to be there.

Our appetizer was cheese flamed in brandy. It came with seasoned bread slices and roasted garlic. It was very good! For lunch I had the shrimp and rice with vegetables. It was prepared with their greek olive oil and herbs. It was delicious! The greek okra was unique and tasty. The other veggies were good too! The fried catfish was perfect too! Not oily but had the best batter. Homemade tartar sauce and amazing potatoes and veggies. There were 5 dessert choices. I chose the raspberry pie with homemade crust. It was excellent too! The restaurant walls are covered with interesting memorabilia. It is a casual atmosphere. Our server kept our drinks filled and was helpful and nice. I highly recommend Hill Top Cafe!!

The decoration and history are interesting and fun to check out. The waitstaff are very friendly and attentive. They pass by often but are not intrusive and know the menu items and are helpful with suggestions. If you come on a night with music, be aware that the volume is so very high one will not be able to hear any of one’s company; unless that is the idea- it will not be a nice night. Several of us left with headaches and sore throats. They had nice appetizers. The bread and feta cheese were really good, but again the appetizers were a bit pricy for the quantity. The food was tasty and had some interesting menu items. t was a bit overpriced for the quality, but definitely for the quantity. The burgers were small but good. Truffle fries were delicious. The stuffed peppers were also flavorful, however, the side was white rice which is part of the stuffing for the pepper- they could have used a garlic mashed or even zucchini or other veggies in a nice butter and herbs. The outside areas were open and offered a reprieve from the loud music. The bathrooms were very clean and well kept.Overall we enjoyed the food, but didn’t find the experience earth shattering.

Nowhere does it tell you about a cover charge. Food is a 5 out of 10. Heard alot about this place but it didn't live up to the hype. Disappointed.

Mediocre food, over priced, realized later after reviewing menu prices we were over charged by 50 dollars for our group. No where does it say anything about a cover charge till you get your bill. Never going back.

Stopped on our way out of town and so glad we did. Been wanting to go for years. Friendly staff and great food. Loved the chicken fried steak
