Tamale Ala cartLooked good but very little meat all masaWould not recommend that item
OMG, just lucked into locating this restaurant! I always judge my Mexican food restaurants by their chips, love the thin and warm chips, and Hilda's aren't but everything was so delicious and quantities are amazing! Frozen strawberry margaritas to die for and Jennifer was awesome too! Thank you for another wonderful experience in Fredericksburg!
Hildas’s never disappoints! From the moment we walk in we are always greeted with a smile and have a seat wherever you want. The chips and salsa are so addicting. The food is always served hot! Thank you Hilda’s!
Big size plates for breakfast. It was good food and will be back. The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because the corn tortillas were not home made.
Our group rode many miles out of our way. The orders were messed up, even though she wrote them down, then she didn't cancel the orders that were messed up so we didn't care to argue the fact to the cashier. The food was not hot, but not cold either. If you're going to write down who got who then take into account how you took the orders on your checkbook. We did not get an itemized receipt and our orders seem to be extremely excessive when we had two enchiladas and a breast of chicken and had to pay fifty bucks for it. Which in turn reflects on no tip.
We read the reviews in advance, some good, some great and many mediocre but we decided to give Hilda’s a try anyway. Big mistake. We’re Native Texans so we know what quality Tex Mex is. This ain’t it! We realized when we started looking at the menu that choices were limited. We ordered shrimp tacos and flautas. Ehhhh. Presentation was lacking and the food was plain and almost tasteless. Knew that we made a mistake but hopefully folks will read this review and learn from our experience. There are too many better/unique restaurants to visit in Fredericksburg.
I ordered the verde burrito and it was terrible. I didn’t get any salsa for my chips. The bottled coke was good. The rice was crunchy, but the refried beans were good. So, the two things they couldn’t screw up were good. In regards to service, they could use additional staff. Other restaurants in town do a better job.
Greeted by staff upon entering, gentleman behind counter was very friendly. Order placed and was made to my request. Upon leaving the clerk thanked me for stopping by. The food was hot and well prepared. Would definitely recommend...
Breakfast menu: coffee was very weak, food was served tepid, service was just ok, room was uncomfotably cold, and the Migasbteakgast was tasteless...tasteless. We gave this place a 2nd chance after a year or so and they couldn't get lunch or breakfast either time. I am curious as to why it receives rave reviews. My taste buds and wallet do not agree with a place to visit. Think about another place for Mexican cuisine.
I went to eat here because I thought the tortillas were going to be home made, giving the name of the restaurant. I was disappointed on that part.Food was great , the service was amazing even thought there was only one waiter. He should get a raise because he gave the best service I’ve ever had and he took care of everyone else.Give this man a raise. Employee like that are rare. It is why I give a 5 start.
