If the wine was pure ambrosia from the gods it would not be worth listening to the owner. “Do you have any other wineries you’d recommend?”“Well I go through the back door on wineries”“Uh..Ok. But are there other wineries you think are good?”“Well it’s like that shirt you have on, you may like it, but it’s not for me”Its like that the whole time. I think he fancies himself as folksy and clever, but he’s actually just rude, dull, and unhelpful from the moment you walk in to the moment you escape back into a town with generally such wonderful people. It’s sad this winery gets to bear the name of such a great town full of great wineries and people.
This place was a nice find. $15 wine tastings for a choice of 5 wines. My favorite was the Christmas wine that they served warmed. The man working here was very friendly and we enjoyed talking to him. The woman who helped us was less than friendly and didn't seem to really care about whether she stayed with us to discuss the wines during our tasting or not. That's the only reason for a 4 star rating.
When there are so many wineries in the area, this is the most historic and fully made in house with all Texas grapes! The tasting guy we had was a hoot! Full of jokes and make the experience more enjoyable! The wines speak for themselves as it's $15 for 5 pours and a glass. The warmed Christmas wine is so good! Definitely recommend this place to start your winery tour in this area!

This place is amazing!!! One that blew me away was the warm Christmas! It was warm’ and I never had warm wine! So it was so yummy! We had amazing time. The server was the best ever!
Enjoyed all their wines. I am partial to red wine ? but the owner explained how important the choices of wine, are to the food selection. He helped broaden my horizon. And had a few Boudreaux and jokes as well. His wife served, she was a pleasant character herself. Thank you for a fun experience. From Louisiana. ?
My husband and I stopped in for a brief tasting and walked away with 2 bottles! The owners are super friendly and great at guiding the tasting. Their Christmas spiced wine is really something special!
I went with my family and was our first time in this winery. The owner Bert is more than amazing. He is a very nice person, and you can notice he really loves his job. Also he is very funny and talkative. Of course every single wine has a unique flavor. We got 5 samples and a free glass. And was when we decided to bough 4 bottles. It will be my stop every single time I go to Fredericksburg.
The people here are so nice and friendly. We always stop in after visiting the chocolate shop next door. The wine is good too!
What a great winery! We got off the bikes after a long bike ride outside Fredericksburg and enjoyed our experience making a wine selection at Fredericksburg Winery. The wine maker was incredible kind and knowledgeable and shared many insights that helped me understand my decision making around wine. We picked the Vertrag wine and are enjoying it poolside at our local accommodations! Thank you!
