My kind of joint. The atmosphere is very low key and relaxed. Had the smoked old fashioned, best Old Fashioned I've ever had. Very rich, yet smooth, but still very strong.

A friend of ours recommended this place—and he was right! If you are looking for a classy bar with a speakeasy vibe, Elk Store is it. They have a great wine selection and a menu of artistic, unique signature cocktails. We visited twice. Both times, my husband ordered the smoked old fashioned, which is literally placed in a small glass smoking cabinet. So many people order this drink that the entire venue smells pleasantly like a campfire. On the first night, I ordered wine, but when we returned, I wasn’t sure what to get; they have their own gin, whiskey, and rum from the Elk Store distillery, but no vodka. I ordered a “girly drink”—a Painkiller—which they (hilariously) put in the pictured parrot glass. In addition to their elevated drinks, Elk Store boasts comfy seating: lots of cozy couches everywhere. Enjoy your visit to this swanky bar!
This location was brought to my attention by a connesiour of liquors. The bar tender was responsive and delivered the finishing touches to drinks with a smoky flourish that did an excellent job of infusing the flavor into both the old fashioned and the cocktail! The atmosphere seems tailored for small groups of up to four, given their assortment of padded seating arrangements.
What a find! I love me some whiskey and they have perfected it! Wonderful whiskey, hangout, and crowd. Don't miss this place when you visit Fredericksburg, TX. I bought a bottle of the Pecan Pie whiskey and Orange brandy!
Really enjoyed this place. The drinks were incredible and was a nice relaxing atmosphere. We got to sit, talk and watch The Patriot on TV while sipping on amazing drinks. An awesome place to end the day
What a find!!! Warm, inviting interior. Excellent service. The music was awesome. The owner personally greeted us. We are here for the weekend and loved it so much we’ll be back tomorrow night for live jazz!
Hands down… my favorite place in Fredericksburg. I’m not the biggest wine drinker so craft cocktails is a WINNER in my book. Talented bartenders use their own distilled alcohol to make the most creative, unique and delicious drinks.
Excellent ambiance, very much like a speakeasy. They have an extensive wine list and cocktail list. The pricing is what you might expect for an upscale place. I tried the whiskey neat and my only problem was that I visited on a Sunday so I couldn't buy a bottle or two. The next time I visit Fredericksburg I'm going to make a beeline for the elk store so I can pick up their whiskey
