When my usual menu is Mcdoubles and TV dinners, it's a treat to try some authentic German food. I picked the Bratwurst Platte and I was not disappointed. Great choice! The potato salad is the best I have ever had. PERIOD! And it's not even close.

Not friendly for Young Families. Went in with 2 toddlers and they only had one highchair. Our server was very pleasant and tended to us quickly. But received glares from other serves when the children were a little unsettled (but tended to quickly) the restaurant was warm, might want to try turning down the thermostat it is HOT in Texas in July! The food was tasty but not worth the stress, most likely will not return or recommend!

This was our first time having German food and it was wonderful !! The waitress was awesome ! A must if you want German food!

We were less than impressed with our meal here. The service was great, but the temperature in the restaurant was way too hot to be eating hot food and the food was less than desirable. My family is German and looking at this place I thought it would be authentic, but in my opinion it is not. The red cabbage was ok, but the German potato salad was nothing impressive and nothing like I have ever eaten. The bread was interesting, but we did not enjoy it either. The waitress was prompt for service, but we were given a dirty fork that we had to ask for a clean one before we could begin eating. Would not try this location again with so many other better options.

Very authentic German restaurant hidden in downtown Fredericksburg, Texas! The service is spectacular and the food quality is superb! We decided to go here because of a local recommendation and we were not disappointed! It's a little on the pricey side for lunch, but well worth it!

Wonderful and authentic German cuisine at its finest. We ordered the Jager Schnitzel which comes with German potato salad and German red cabbage. Thus is my third time here and everything is always top notched and wonderful. This restaurant is over 30 years old and it’s one of the oldest restaurants in Fredericksburg. This restaurant is owned by a woman from Germany. So if you want authentic German food, I would highly recommend this wonderful place.

Was in the mood for some German food. Stopped here on a busy Sunday. Got some schnitzel with gravy, German potato salad and red Sauerkraut. Not a big ran of the sauerkraut, but the schnitzel with brown gravy and mushrooms was very tender and tasty.

My hubby lived in Germany for many years and loves to come here. Every time we go here he says how much it feels like he is back in Germany. The food is amazing the the portions are generous.

We were there at 4 pm on Wednesday. Got seated quickly. Ordered the Curry Wurst, Jäger Schnitzel, and a basket of bread. The food was good but the service was not. Our server never checked to see if we needed anything.

Did not enjoy this meal, sorry to say. Was looking forward to a great German meal. Got German, but not very good. Plus it was way overpriced for what you got. Where's the sauerbraten? We shared a 10$ bowl of cheese & bacon soup which was good.Hubby had smoked pork chops with German potato salad & sauerkraut. I had Jager Schnitzel with red cabbage and potato salad. The potato salad was dry, warm & sweet. Made with mashed potatoes. Sauerkraut & red cabbage tasty.I thought the schnitzel was fine, but the sauce with mushrooms was very salty, and way too much of it. I noticed a lot of grizzle coming out of hubby's mouth from his ham (smoked pork chops). The portions were small, but the prices were not. 4$ for a few pieces of rye. 23$ per entree.Wouldn't return, atmosphere was ok. Nice touristy restaurant. Hope there are better ones around though.
