Great brisket very tender pork was good. Coleslaw and potato salad was excellent and did like the homemade barbecue sauce. Will be back soon

Great barbeque!! They were out of ribs unfortunately but their brisket was super tender and tasted great. Their coleslaw and mac-n-cheese was good. It was pretty packed so the seating was scarce but after tasting their food it's understandable. There was only one group that took up a big table that was rude enough to sit and chitchat long after they were done eating knowing the place was packed. Other than that our experience was great.

1st and last time , for it being a tourist town the employees at David's give u the ugh look like they don't even want to be there . No one greets u in , no one tells u, that u can get the bread free that's places on the side . They have a weird way of running the restaurant.. u can't even tell who works there or not . U have to pay for pickles, Onion, jalapenos witch should come free with the meal . Out door tables are dirty . And to top it off they did not even have peach cobbler and it was still early 11 a.m . Not a friendly place. Never again

Stopped by since we figured you can’t go wrong with Texas bbq. Oh man. Were we ever wrong. The sauce was essentially warm ketchup and had a vague spaghetti sauce taste to it. Really bizarre choice when it comes to flavor. The brisket was tough and pretty much overcooked to the point of being way too chewy. Brisket should be tender! Falling apart from being slow cooked to perfection! Something this obviously wasn’t. The sausage had a strange aftertaste I couldn’t pin point. Not the greatest. The ribs were the best of the three meats, but not something to write home about. Felt like they were cooked in an oven, no smoker in sight. You ever been to a really great barbecue restaurant and the smell of smoke and meats hits you first thing? This wasn’t it.This meat had absolutely no smoke in their flavor. A travesty really.Final thoughts: only go here if you hate yourself

Brisket was dry and not very warm... my boots would have been about as tasty. The bbq sauce was just plain weird. Also can't believe that at noon they'd be out of all chicken that's on the menu.Won't be going back anytime soon.So sad as I want all local businesses to be successful and I hated their product.

Please do not go here. The good reviews are for people who have never had real BBQ before because it was HORRIBLE. I went with my boyfriend before we drove home and I was completely underwhelmed. I should’ve known it wasnt going to be any good when I didn’t smell BBQ when i walked in the door :( The brisket was dry and chewy, the sausage had almost no flavor to it, and their homeade bbq sauce tasted like spaghettios. Apparently the Baby Rays bbq sauce that they have already is also watered down? I couldn’t even finish my plate because of how bad it was. This is a disgrace to Texas BBQ.Out of everything, the sweet tea was the best. only reason i would go back is for the sweet tea.

We used David's Old fashioned Pit BBQ for catering for our wedding in Fredericksburg, excellent choice! Food was good, service was great. I appreciate the owner David for being there and even though our guest count last minute had dropped with the rise of covid cases recently with Omicron, he even allowed us to go down on our guest count on the number of plates within the last week of the wedding which we really appreciate on our end. Thanks David! :)

The brisket was tender, but the house sauce could use some improvements. They also offered bottles of sweet baby rays sauce, seemed to be watered down.

Stopped in on a whim. Just needed some lunch. I would say the brisket is very moist but greasy. We had the taco and the sandwich. It was good but not Texas BBQ good. I asked for some sweet BBQ sauce. The girl there gave me a bottle of sweet baby rays sauce. After putting it on my food. I realized it was a little runny. After taking a few bites. I realized what they done. They thinned the sweet baby rays with vinegar. I am not a fan of being miss led when it comes to my BBQ or sauce. The other reason I was not a fan was that this place needed some repairs. Bathroom door would not lock. Floors were kind of dirty. Please do your part to be a true business owner and your business will be good. This is a honest review!
