Nice atmosphere to sit and relax to enjoy a well-prepared meal. I liked that it was a spot for fancy food but you could either choose to be dressed up or not as the atmosphere is laid back. The staff was very friendly and while prices may seem a bit on the high side for some folks, the quality of the food was excellent and the servings were a good size. The drinks were quite pricey though, so save your money for a good appetizer or maybe dessert. My wife had the pulled-pork stuffed quail and while she said there were "a lot of tastes happening all at once," the flavors seemed to complement each other and she liked her choice.I had the chicken fried ribeye topped with lobster and ended up wiping my plate clean with my fork because it all tasted so good. For an appetizer, we ordered the deep-fried olives with cheese fondue and they were very tasty. I don't even like olives that much but my wife loves them and we both ended up enjoying this appetizer. If we're back in Fredericksburg, we'll be putting this restaurant on our list as a place to revisit so we can try other items from their menu.

My wife and I enjoyed dinner at Cabernet Grillthis past weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at this fine establishment! The services were impeccable and the food was absolutely delicious! The Lobster topped Chicken Fried Steak with green chili cream gravy: Best I’ve ever had! The Strip Steak my wife had was the best steak she’s ever had! Definitely worth the stop while in Fredericksburg! We will definitely be going back on our next trip there!

The quality of the food is definitely worth the price tag. I have always told my family if I ever had to pick my final meal it would be the sweet chili tempura shrimp from Cabernet Grill. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. 10/10 would recommend!

I booked our dinner at Cabernet Grill as a follow up to a successful proposal to my fiancé. The staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable offering great suggestions throughout our meal. As we made our way out we decided to buy a copy of the executive chefs book and he was kind enough to sign it and write us a kind message of encouragement. We later realized that the Cotton Gin Village is also bed and breakfast with beautiful cabins for rent! On our next trip to Fredericksburg we intend to book our stay in one of the cabins, and of course, enjoy another meal with Chef Burtwell! Thank you Chef, Emy, and all of your wonderful staff for such great experience!

We chose this restaurant for my 30th birthday dinner. They were easy to accommodate a reservation for 6 and seemingly happy to do so. The waiter knew the menu inside and out, gave us his recommendations, he was quick on drinks. The food. Wow wow wow. So light, so filling, so well thought out. We all got different menu items and each one of us were so pleasantly surprised. Will def be back.

The Cabernet Grill never disappoints! In all the years we have been going there, it has remained our consistent go-to for special occasions or anytime we just need pampering. This was our 36th anniversary and we were treated like royalty. John was such a great server. He was friendly and very knowledgeable. He went out of his way to make us feel at home. The food, of course, was excellent. My husband had the pork chop and I had the pecan crusted chicken. They were just delicious! We followed up with the bread pudding and the peach cobbler. AMAZING!! Thank you for a lovely experience!!

What an amazing, unforgettable experience. Our meals we made to perfection. And the service was impecable -- thank you, Sean, for answering our questions and providing great recommendations. This was a highlight for us, and we'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area!

If you are in the area (and even if you aren’t it’s worth the drive) this place was THE best food my husband and I have ever eaten. Our waitress Emy was top notch, the food was so unique and amazing! The desserts were amazing BUT THE FOOD out of this world. My husband got the chicken fried steak with green chili gravy and lobster and I was sneaking bites off his plate! 1000/10 recommend!

Dining here is a wonderful experience. The food is fabulous with a nice variety of entrees, their wine selection is impressive as well. We love the ambiance of the restaurant and stayed overnight at the Cotton Gin to celebrate our anniversary.

We travel to the Hill Country several times a year and I was FINALLY able to get reservations here for our anniversary dinner. Everything was absolute perfection from the decor, to the staff, to the fabulous food. Will definitely be returning.
